Strife is a mean, bad, bad doggie!

I KNOW...I've seen Strife running around on all fours and barking - even tearing off huge chunks of human flesh and bolting them down a massive, infected canine gullet.

In the I Am Legend sim, of course. Bad dog!

Have YOU feasted on the flesh of the still warm and living yet? If so...what'd ya think? Need salt?

Or...are the infected just too hard to kill with all their running and leaping and feasting and such?

Last night, he was a German Sheperd guiding Lexxi to the body bags. And surprisingly, he didn't try to bite me. :)

Thanks Strife :)

I had to give up on IAL, the lag was making me carsick. :( It's too bad really, the game is pretty good but SL is the wrong place for any kind of twitch game.

I do recommend that everyone try it, there are great freebies there if nothing else, and they did a pretty good job on the build. :)

Yeah. The Electric Sheep should be congratulated about their outstanding work in putting together such a great place...and for their admin work, too.

But Linden Lab should be ashamed...and I mean DEEPLY ashamed for the way their product lag locks constantly.

I always end up as Zombie fodder.

The pistol sucks.

Other than that, I enjoy the experience immensely.

I suggested they make the default human weapon a baseball bat instead of a bb pistol :)

In the <snip> is a building with a submachine gun. And one of the shelters has a assault rifle. Get ammo from body bags (thanks Strife, one of these days I'll find a med kit). I have no idea if these work, as the infected seemed to avoid me after I got those weapons. Prior to getting those weapons, though, I kept dying very easily. I'd heal, spot a "evil one" right as I was about to heal, quickly open up my inventory to get my gun (stupid thing falls off when you die), and before I can do anything, I'm dead again.

the trick to killing vamps with the BB gun is to move backwards and fire. Once they are right in front of you, move forward a bit then rinse and repeat. It doesn't work all the time, and lag makes aiming a more or less fruitless task. Still, it works fairly often, and you don't have to cheat by jumping around like a loony. :P

It was just easier to die then get healed. As a police dog there wasn't much to do, all you could do was bite and lead people to salvage. As an infected you could use the salvage to up your stats.

The canine classes are speed enhanced, the AO makes them move faster but it makes accurate moving very difficult.

It's a game where group tactics work best, if you hunt as a pack, sooner or later enough get luckly that they can kill the pray.

Which is the most interesting aspect of the game, to me. Once players begin to realize they need to cooperate in order to stay alive...things get lotsafun. Infected, hunting as packs are simply deadly...especially at night.

But...what I'm starting to notice is players only logging on when their particular faction is strong. Which has made for some pretty boring play, sometimes.

Look for "I am Legend"

And I had actually started as an infected doggy, with an infected human teammate. But I kept moving too fast for the zombie :), and there didn't seem to be anything to do, so we restarted as uninfected.

Teamwork is very important. I kept losing my teammate, though, sorry. :)

Yesssssssss.

And make sure you choose "uninfected human"...then go to the meat market and ask inside about their daily specials.

I might have come too late for the party, but I'm NOT daft! :D

Do they allow furries? Especially felines?

Well, I went in last night - for the first time - in my Human Torch avi. Strife killed me, and possibly ate me - within a few moments of my arrival. The lag was terrific.

Proving once again Strife's ability to swallow a lot of hot air...

You really don't have to use the default avatars at all. 've seen furries, neko, and I saw a bat running around as an infected. I think you should definitely try to keep yourself as low lag as possible. Remove AOs and other tools.

The new first look viewer (windlight) will fix that with the rendering optimizations

The freezelagging is not SL it is actually the RAM being filled up on ur PC and it moving to the virtual ram (hard-drive) so ur HD rezzes out and freeze lags it
Objects are not culled properly in SL and it makes it soooo slow.

Thanks Chaos, I will give it a try. Amazing that 2gb of RAM and 256mb of VRAM are not enough to run SL properly. :(

Just noting that the new WindLight first look viewer has not yet been released. Torley said "a few weeks" back in August I think, so it would seem there have been some delays.

I think they mean the current release candidate, an IM was sent by the IAL mods about how the new optional client download increased FPS.
