Warner Brothers has worked with some excellent SL content creators to make a zombie FPS game, set in a recreation of part of NYC in SL, as part of the promo for their upcoming Will Smith film, 'I Am Legend: Survivor'. Go. Play. Tell us about it -- but not on this thread, on the one in the Games section that Argent started and got overlooked: /165/35/216879/1.htmlGame website: http://iamlegendsurvival.warnerbros.com/Good review of it: http://www.gridgrind.com/?p=203 (may have to space down the page)

Mmmm.. yum, yum! Anyway, Nika, why do you say "tell us about it", as if you were part of the marketing team? Otherwise I would think you are just thrilled about it and wanted to share the news Will have a look at the sim eventually. Thanks for bringing it up, even though this is hardly the best place *Passes Nika one and half of his pies before Rygel eats them all*

Shameless plug or not, it is fun. I have died twice tonight. How do you kill a zombie with the f'n pistol anyway? BTW, saw a famous owner of several Victorian sims in all his Vic clothing splendor running down the mean streets tonight, pistole' in hand

lol no I'm not affiliated with the game in any way. I just said "tell us about it" because I am sooooo envious of those of you with PCs decent enough to play ... at home I use a crappola laptop, I prolly would be dead 10 times over before I got out of my coffin ....
Just wanted to get some attention for the game 'cause I think it's way cool, and Argent's thread seemed to have been ignored. Again, I think folks should be posting over there, lol!
*pets Rygel and licks her plate*

Running around shooting zombies... or running around as a zombie. Great fun for halloween! You can even choose a dog or a zombie dog! Haha. I am going to try a zombie dog next.

BtW, the thing that attracted my attention to this game was the partnership between a major RL business and topnotch inworld talent. (I'm always on the lookout for viable RL uses for SL). See the credits from Cory Edo's "Thank You" post on another BB: ------------------------------------------------------- Its all Neobokrug I make things pretty, he makes them work everyone come check it out, its a lot of fun http://flickr.com/photos/14558713@N03/EDIT: here's the full project team for anyone interested (but I love giving props to everyone that worked on this) - Cory Edo - Project Manager, textures - Neobokrug Elytis - code guru - Makaio Stygian - NYC builds - Spider Mandala - props, builds, easter eggs, all around stuff - Canimal Zephyr - Human costumes - Wynx Whiplash - dog/infected dog avatars - Lo Jacobs - orientation island wording and signage - Xenius Revere - weapons - Caitlin Benton - animations - Marthmallow Mip from IllClan - Machinima shots - Johnnyid Orbit - John Limpert from Warner Bros (client) - all our awesome beta testers

game is fun but the combat system can get pretty bad when lag hits since its using sensors and not actual bullets.

The only problem with this game is that it uses SL. That's it. It's a great build, great concept, great execution. A homerun for the Sheep. But it's LL and SL that lets them down. Massive server lag, region crossing problems...the same old stew that plagues almost everyone, everywhere. If SL would run smoothly, if LL would actually fix their asset server issues, then more of this kind of think would be fantastic.
So...congrats to the Sheep on a job well done...especially Corey Edo. She's a fantastic rep for them...friendly, helpful and polite - the epitome of what good Public Relations and Customer Service is all about. The ONLY problem in that area comes from a rather infrequently updated blog about the IAL universe...especially when they take their sims down for maintenance or repair...but that's really a minor issue at this point.
LL could SERIOUSLY go to school by watching Corey. I think they might need it.

tried the game today, my only complaint is the newbie pistol seems very very in effective at killing anything, and when i traded up for a better weapon it neglected to tell me it had no ammunition. i found this out when i tried to use it for the first time with somewhat comical results!
but on a serious note, giving new players a weapon that takes literally 5 magazine changes worth of ammunition to kill a dog... and then you still don't manage to kill it because the SL lag makes it too difficult to track a moving target.. well i bet a lot of new players will be discouraged by this and stop playing.

My sentiments exactly. Question, where did you find a better weapon?

The weapons are hidden throughout the sims. The shotgun is in Coney Island. The Assaut Rifle is in Chinatown. The submachine gun is in the Central Park building. And, yeah...the undead are hard to kill...that's the whole point of the thing. Humans have to work together to take them down...and at night...the Darkseekers are VERY hard to kill. It's a blast to play...and unfortunately, as I've already mentioned...it's SL's own lag that kills the fun 100% of the time. The Electric Sheep have created a great game...too bad it's better than the platform that runs it.

yup, the lag makes this more or less unplayable I'm sorry to say, especially if you are trying to use a ranged weapon.

Is this still up? I read a review of it at http://www.massively.com/2007/11/07/first-impressions-i-am-legend-in-second-life/And used this slurl included in the review. http://slurl.com/secondlife/IAL%20Orientation%20Island/120/54/32/But I got tranported to a nearby area. I did a search for "Legend" and got nothing related to the movie.

While I personally don't believe its all that great a game, SL does kill a number of potential games with its limited LSL language and high lag.
