For people experiencing SL like I am, nothing done to the program matters much till the gray rectangles with white outlines are eliminated. Sigh.

Moved to Preview for SL 1.9!

I haven't given the textures themselves a really good workout. Preview is kinda sparse in that regard... but I'll head to some packed places to get more of a feel. I've mostly been in sandboxes and whatnot.

Preview is indeed rather sparse, a bunch of primarily Linden owned land, largely empty of prims.

And they let us have our balances in our accounts but there is nothing to buy! What fun is that? I could be trying on clothes if there where some clothes stores around.

I note that FairChang Island is off limits to me. Is this a whole sim in the preview just for testing the security of private islands? Or are the owners engaged in some kind of secret nefarious plot that can only be brought to fruition in the preview grid on a limited access sim? I sure hope so, that might be fun.

Or are the owners Lindens who want to take a break from preview testing on their very nice sim without having to restart the program?

These matters clearly deserve investigation by hundreds and hundreds of people in the preview grid!

I remember seeing mention of 1.9 adding the ability to have sims share resources with each other rather that being all by themselves. If that is the case then that should help with the texture loading problem and hell maybe even a little lag too. That interest list problem was never fully addressed either I think which is also apart of the problem...

I still think it's messed up they blew the whole bush sign thing off as a "social experiment" to see how we would take care of it. Bleh.

I'd like to see either a black texture with fullbright red outlines, or an actual wireframe effect.

Just not that horrid fuzzy semitransparent grey mess we used to have.

Hm...I don't know. It look okay to me -- the gray with white outline texture. It make an interesting effect sometimes. And please...no fullbright red outline please. That'll look horrible. Outline? I doubt LL will implemented that -- they say something about privacy.

There are some sims that are being used to test the various new functions of the estate menus for private islands, also a bunch of sims being used to test out the teleport rules now that its handled slightly differently, there are also some places to test purchasing of items, like oak grove, darkwood, abbots, lusk, and one of the city sims is online. darkwood has some clothes and lusk has nice furries
