There is a discussion going on about the bottom of the HUD screen being unclickable. I don't know if this is a but or not. I hope it is and that its going to be fixed. It seems to be in the lower area of the screen where the Release Keys button and music and so on reside.
Here's the discussion link. Hope it gets fixed.

HUD? It's Gimmick!

To be perfectly frank I've never realy seen the point of the HUD. To me it's just a gimick with no useful purpose.

How about the HUD I have for my dragon? Two or three clicks and I can change my color, sit, breath, open and close my wings, straiten or coil my tail. Without a HUD I'd either need to remember a complicated string of /99 commands or rez an object that everyone can see.

How's THAT for useful?

HUD's are incredibily useful allowing content creators to create custom interfaces for their products or for making very complex scripted gadgets and delivering them in a very user friendly way. Also, there are plenty of games that become possible with HUDs. They allow ways to display private information to players (like hole cards for poker). They also allow players to make moves by clicking on a button. If instead a player had to say a chat command, then their opponent would hear information that they shouldn't.

Visit HUDDLES Headquarters to get an idea of why they might be useful. I've have a few HUDs that are eitehr 0 or 1L for you to try. Or pick up a copy of the ZHAO at Animation Warehouse for free to replace your current AO.

Here is a picture illustrating the HUD Dead Zone:

The red stripe is not touchable/clickable, however the green area is.

This was driving me up the wall last night. So we just have to move our huds up a littel. annoying buy easy enough. I would expect a few more User Interface things to popup like this. Since that is that is what they really changed in this version.

And yes Huds to me are the mostly usefully feature ever added. U-poser would have never been possibleHUD Example

HUDs are the place to put all the info and control programs for your av, like animation overriders, flight scripts, scanners, and avatar prim controllers.

You want to try one on the cheap, get a copy of my otter monitor from my store* or by asking your friends if they're using it... it's open source and freely redistributable. Or just ask your friends what HUDs they use, and if any of them are copy/transfer so you can try one.

Oh, and I bug-reported this in *preview*, <sarcasm>so they should have fixed it by now</sarcasm>.

*See my picks in-world.

Ah, I thought it was the design of my HUDs, the two I can't click are both partially transparent, thought it was that, bah, weird :(

The HUD 'dead-zone' also seems to apply to trying to touch objects in the world, as well.

Then you have a HUD that does nothing useful and need one that does something.
