Garn...........I'm going to have to side with LL on this (god that hurts........LOL). Vista is brand new. The video, audio, and any hardware device manufacturer have to step up and get their software to work with Vista. It's unfortunate that MS's new system put the older drivers out of date.......but like my friend Jacaues pointed out, they can't cover everthing with the literal millions upon millions of combinations possible in every computer running their OS..........the individual manufacturers have to step up if they want to ramain compatible.

Second Life is one of those "manufacturers"...............they need to step up if they want a happy base of Vista users. I think they will..........afterall Microsoft welds a heavy club and LL has no choice. But something like this I understand will take some time to fix on LL's part. This is not like LL introducing a new feature.........LL did not do this. Microsoft did.

I think updating SL would be a BIG plus to new people! Think about it! Change the ways avatars are done, physics, scripting, mapping coordinates on avatars, prims, and so on, and watch how many long time stores drop out when their current products become incompatible with the new!!

BTW- comparing SL to Microsoft is silly. Microsoft makes Operating Systems. SL is a Program. WIndows is almost totally installed (minus a few IT features) on your computer. SL streams in every single detail.

There are features I eagerly wait for in SL. I am a patient man. I've waited 2 decades for computers to be what they are now. I can wait another 2 decades for SL to become even more interesting.

As they say "Good things come to those who wait"

Patience, people, patience.

Hmmm we talk about M$ and LL and a lot of things like update/upgrades and so on

I been playing SL now a year almost and i have to admit i am not a paying customer
for one i am not allowed to have a creditcard here in Holland where I live.
I would pay if i could but LL don't give alternatives to let me verify just to make things clear.

Anyways yes SL can be as buggie as hell, lord i have seen some bad times but again most of
the time they seemed to fix it!!!
Yes i um use hard words when it going to hell again but i am used to it playing online games also for a long time every online game i played the days after updates people get in to
a witch hunt about how bad it is and blame LL for doing a p***poor job or blame peeps like me that uses freeacounts and btw i bought land and pay my tier i make my own way in
SL with out camping or other weird ways no i buy my linden also or earn enough not to have to buy them.

But said all this hmmm i know most servers work with linux... and to my knowledge Debian
no i wonder do they use stable or the unstable version....
Lemme explain Debian stable is a linux distribution that has most bugs fixed and runs stable enough to work.
Unstable is like the grand experiment most things work and are mostly state of the art or cutting edge it has the newest drivers or the latest webserver programs.
Btw most software in debian are called packages if one is broke believe me another will be affected but they mostly fix it within days depending on the need.
sounds familiar ????

And by the sounds of things.... LL sounds like there are a lot of linux geeks (i say this in a positive way) there and they work chaotic ;) but get the jobs done.

3 hooya's for the LL peeps !!!
