How much would it take to pay you to never log into SL ever again, and to never use anything related to SL ever again?

US$1 Million, or US$0 if something more interesting comes along.

Enough to let me create another world with all the good bits and none of the bad bits, and bring all of my friends and comrades over there. Which sum of money does not seem to be an option... it would be more than a million.

1 mil USD would guarantee I never log in (I'd be too busy with RL then).. although I'd settle for 100K USD, because that would also take care of all my debt.

Enough to cover the loss on all my bad land deals and related tier levels, and all the stuff (and there is alot) that I have bought. If I could just break even and walk away, I'd be very happy. I've been in SL almost a year (Jan 14 is my 1st rezz day), and I'm afraid to even add all those things up. My husband will have a heart attack!

How much you got?

You know what would be funny? Have someone take you up on the offer, then pay them in Lindens so if they log on to cash in the Lindens they break the agreement not to log on and have to give the money back.

I haven't got a number. I really like SL. It would take a lot to make me not log on, and money has never been a huge motivating factor in my life. I guess I just don't want to quit, and I place a much higher value on my friends and the fun I have on here than I do on cash.

It seems from the early voting that most feel the same as you - which is VERY cool, but also slightly worrying in terms of how much power LL has over people's lives.

You couldn't pay me enough because money is irrelevant to me whether I have any or not, my family are here & that's all that matters, IF they ever go, I may move on but never for $

I was looking at it the other way 'round: A US$10 increase in monthly tier ought to do it for me.

As Texas is a community property state, my husband has the full legal right to log into my account on the website and transfer the money to either PayPal or check.*

And before you start quoting TOS, yes, I've verified this with a phone call to LL.

A

* granted, it means my death would have to occur.......... but that's besides the point!

$ isn`t L$ so if they give L$, there is no agreement but a donation :)

lol - I wasn't going to quote the TOS. I was just kidding around and it's not like the OP is actually offering to pay people to quit SL, so any answers here are just for the sake of discussion. My bottom line is basically that I make enough money in RL to support myself. I'm not rich, but I'm not going hungry. Money is just a means to an end. It can't make you happy. I'd like more of it, but I also like my friends and I like the fun times I have on SL. I'd like to think I could resist the urge to be greedy and go for the cash, but then, nobody is actually dangling a sack full of dough in front of me right now, so who knows. I imagine it would have to be a pretty good-sized sack.

I can't see being bought off to leave. Like Trout, I'm relatively comfortable in RL, so, they'd have to offer me some really ridiculous sum of money to make it worth my while. I mean, not for nothing, but $1,000,000 really won't go far these days in the long run, over time anyway (well, not where I live, at least).

I don't see how anyone offering me money in RL to dump my partner, friends, a home, and possessions would work, so really, it wouldn't probably happen in SL either if it were ever offered (which, of course, it never would be)

If you gave me the Million I'd be out so fast there would be skid marks. But that could be said of a lot of my entertainment choices. For the people here who I may want to keep up with, I can do that in other ways.

I'm not sure, start paying me money and I will tell you when I hit my limit. :)

You know, I couldn't place a value on it, really. So I didn't vote.

First, I make a profit here, so any such buy-out would have to cover that lost income stream.

Second, there are friends that I have here who simply won't meet me anywhere else. So accepting an offer like that would mean choosing between those friends and the cash.

All in all, a money offer probably wouldn't get me to leave SL.

Or, so that the Risk API locks up their account and they _can't_ log in. :)

Let's put a big fireplace in the Hangout, and we can all sit around it, tossing in piles of L$. I feel the same way. It'd take an awful lot of moolah to make me give up my Second Life.
