I'm the only one of the people I know who were on who's getting the problem, but just in case I'm not the only one: From: someone Graphics Card Vendor: NVIDIA Corporation Graphics Card: GeForce FX 5200/AGP/SSE2 OpenGL Version: 2.0.3 93.71 nVidia drivers Steps to reproduce the bug: 1) make a plywood prim 2) select a texture face 3) colour it Observed results: The texture doesn't recolour. Fix (in Windows): Control Panel > Display > Settings > Advanced Under the GeForce (something) tab Performance & Quality Settings The bug occurs when Image Settings is set to High Performance, or Performance, but doesn't occur when it's set to Quality. Loss of FPS, but at least the world doesn't look all bland and colourless .

I couldn't find the quality setting under my GEForce - Tab. Everything was working OK yesterday. Is it due to a change in 1.15? I've got aircraft crashing into the red warning light on my lighthouse that is now white!!!

Oddly enough, I did the opposite to fix it, and set Image Quality to 'High Performance'.

Ok, I have dual screens on my computer. One is FX5500 and the other is FX5200. I've got no color overlay on Textures on the FX5500. FX5500 was working fine yesterday - the only change is downloading SL V1.15.
But the FX5200 is working fine. I can slide the window from one to the other and one has color the other doesn't.
AND BOTH BOARDS HAVE IDENTICAL SETTINGS.
I've messed with all the FX5500 settings and nothing fixes it.

Nothing! This is a SL issue. All other Applications run Fine. Since the new Update I am having issues. LL Meesed something Up and it needs to be fixed. If more then One person is having issues then it has to be corrected by them. We all can't adjust our PC's when they can undo what they did. Now if anyone can come in game and help with this Just IM me. Or LL fix it! and Fix it fast!

I found a WORK AROUND for objects with your own textures - I have about 40 to re-work. It won't work for other owners' textures. On my computer the color overlays fail only on textures that have no transparent areas. All you need is a tiny transparent area somewhere on the texture and the color overlay will work.
I think I read that SL1.15 had "improvements" in rendering surfaces textured with transparent areas - a much needed update. It sounds like this problem is perhaps related to this "update".

No colour on prims
04-26-2007 02:40
Same here, since yesterdays update I cant see any colour on prims. For example, I rez a cube, colour it red, to me it still looks uncoloured, everyone else can see it as red.
Textures are fine, except I cant tint them, shine is fine, local light is fine, it's just the colours aren't there. Everything looks awful, plywood and white surfaces everywhere.
I've tried fiddling with SL preferences, tried changing the performance/quality, cleared cache, rebooted etc., but looking at previous posts I suspect it's a compatibility problem with my NVIDEA GeForce FX5200 (256mb). Driver date 17/11/2006 version 6.14.10.9381, running under Windows XP, I also tried the .9371 drivers too.
*EDIT*
Correction...Ctrl-Alt-6 worked for me. (Client Menu/features/fog)
Not perfect, I now occasionally get rectangular blocks of colour at the edges of the screen, but better than blank textures.

Hi,
Can someone try turning off opengl vertex buffer objects in the preferences > adv. graphics menu and see if that helps.
Thanks Milo.

It seems like there's three different ways to change the quality settings . 1) http://img95.imageshack.us/img95/2672/menuzq3.jpgIf you have the nVidia settings thingy in the lower right corner: right-click on it, Performance & Quality Settings > Image Settings 2) http://img95.imageshack.us/img95/7111/cpqk7.jpgControl Panel > Display (or right-click on the Desktop and pick Properties) Settings tab > Click Advanced GeForceFX 5200 tab (which can look like the above) Under Performance & Quality Settings > Image Settings 3) http://img292.imageshack.us/img292/8457/proggiekj7.jpgIf you have the configuration proggie instead under the tab: Click Manage 3D settings, it's called "Texture Filtering" there. ----- Mine was set to High Performance which resulted in the bug, changing it to Quality fixed it up for me and someone else, although Cross commented he changed it to High Performance to fix it. The way I tested it was to simply rez a plywood prim, colour it (which didn't show), then log off, change the setting, relog and see if anything changed, and rinse and repeat until it was fixed . Hopefully the extra steps above will help those in the thread who couldn't get it to work . And everyone do file a bug report (and reference the thread I guess because it is video card specific so for the QA bug testing team, it won't reproduce and they'd just bin it).

From: Milo Linden Can someone try turning off opengl vertex buffer objects in the preferences > adv. graphics menu and see if that helps. That's the first thing I tried and it did no good . None of the SL preference settings made any difference. What I did in the post above made everything all normal again though.

Having 'performance' setting rather than quality, basically flattens the textures, what you gain in performance you loose in quality, unless your GC can give you excellent performance with quality selected. A FX5*** isn't cutting edge for a GC. I have no problems with my 7950GTX.

From another thread ( /327/46/179973/1.html#post1485365): From: Ragar Desoto Recently with the new release of Second Life there has been issues with the FX series graphics cards. No colors showing up. Only textures. From what I have found it has to do with the alpha bug that was fixed. I tested this out with creating a ball setting the texture to blank then adding a color to it, there was no color showing up of course when I set its transparency up a slight amount, about 2, the color appeared. I have an FX 5500 card that I am using at the moment and it took me about a day to figure out how to fix this error. What I did was download a program called Rivatuner, its a graphics tweak program. What you do to fix this bug with SL is: First Download Rivatuner. Second when installed click on the little icon that looks like half a square next to a box that says 'Forceware Detected' Third click on the little button that shows a sweep. Fourth it will ask if you want to restart your computer once this is done, click on no. Fifth start up SL and see if anything has changed. This has been tested and has worked on two FX cards already. An FX 5200 and my FX 5500. I hope this information is of use to people that are having this problem, and remember don't mess around with RivaTuner to much if you don't know what you are doing
