It's nice that LL decided to put in the date and time you will be able to log back in on the little lockout box after you crash, HOWEVER....

Being locked out for 5 minuites after the SL client crashes isn't going to fly with me AT ALL. Not considering the client crashes every 5 minuites now. (Or you have to logout to reset the client to make updates showup)

And there are times when I (and others) will NEED to be back online quickly. Being offline for 5 mins after a crash WILL result in lost tips for entertainers, and certainly if someone manages to get something from one of my vendors while I'm crashed out for 5+ mins while having been in the middle of editing a vendor, I will hold LL responsible for my loss

I dont know what LL thinks it created or has, but what you DID create was a virtual world where thousands and thousands of dollars of real money changes hands every hour. Linden Labs needs to realize it has some responsibility to keep it running correctly and smothly

yeah, its pretty stupid... but it doesnt always make you wait 5 minutes.. thats just what it says by default... it keeps adding 5 to mine... been out for 15 minutes now and it still says im not alowed to log in, and gives me another time thats 5 minutes away....

just tried again.... i think theres some bug where its not logging people out right... cuz it still saying its logging me out.... wonder how many hours its gonna take to do that

In the LiveHelp a while back, one of the Lindens told us if you get this... DO NOT hammer the site to relog until the time posted has gone by. All you'll do is add +5 mins to the time. Just wait it out. It's probably something with a timeout \ loss connection to prevent some type of exploit.

Many other games does not recognize that you have crashed, so it will think you´re still there until it ´pings´ you and disconnects your account by timeout.

Agree! When I'm hosting an event, that's 30-60 minutes long, shutting me out for 5 minutes (or more) when I crashed, just RUINS the event!

Although luckily I could get back in 2-3 minutes mostly, by trying and trying to log in.

I like to know who and why they added this feature? I don`t anyone asked for this? But its a useless in more cases and just upsets people more then not.

here is a trick i learned.Instead of loging back on at the location you crashed at login in a your HOME POINT. It does speed up at times most of the time.

I just ignore it, I'm usually back in within 30 seconds.

..enterenter, enterenter, enterenter...

I just look at it as a suggestion, and I always ignore suggestions ;)

It does sometime take a minute of two if you have crashed for the servers to realize that you aren't there anymore, but defiantely not five. It no different thatn it was before 1.9.

What fun is it if you just follow the rules? I'm actually surprised people actually heed that warning and dutifully wait the 5 minutes.

I entirely ignore the time given, partly because the CURRENT time is not listed on the login screen at all, and I'm not about to sit there and do time zone conversions to figure out what time it is talking about.

I got "you have tried to log in from multiple locations your Account wont be accesible until (like a minute later)

so my guess is the server still considers you online for a lil bit after you crash..

A bit? The other day I crashed and after 15 mins still couldn't get back in, so I went and played in preview (much better, it crashes every few minutes but you get back in instantly), a friend showed up about 10 minutes later and, between crashes, told me that some 25 mins after I crashed on the main grid I was still logged in, and visible flying from the main continent toward the souther continent over non-enabled void sims!

Neat system.
