It's a lot safer to have the world closed and only show Fox the Lindex exchange and how to make as much cash out of that as possible. Anyway, SL is, theoretically, a game for responsible, mature adults and "mature" areas are clearly marked so no underage players may enter it (can they? I don't think so...) - just like "mature" chat rooms that mostly turn to cybersex. Anyway, it's players who create the SL content and they should take the responsibility for it. And if someone tries to bash the game creators, I swear to God I'm gonna defend the First Amendment with the Second one. |

That's what they're after anyways. </CYNICAL> Actually they already filmed it - I should know, I was excluded from a demo sailboat race specifically laid on for a Fox film crew because of my boat's 'middle finger' custom logo sail... Apparently Fox would have refused to film if they'd seen it! This from a company which earlier today featured an animated cartoon of a pissing pig on it's website homepage! In point of fact LL has nothing to fear from adverse media comment - there are enough self-appointed censors within SL to insulate them from any such comment... _____________________
All very well for people to have a sig that exhorts you to 'be the change' - I wonder if it's ever occurred to them that they might be something that needs changing...?

Since when is Furry "terrible and sick pornographic content" ... I can see BDSM, yes that is at least "... pornographic content".. but how can you take a whole subculture, like furries and label us "terrible and sick pornographic content"... Thats intresting when people, or national news stations take something like "furry", which they nothing about except what they saw on the MTV special Sex2K (which was done by interviews with specific people who, yes were furries, but were involved in something that a very small portion of the MASSIVELY huge subculture is involved in) That like saying, no, i dont even need to give an example.. you can see how sterotypical that is blindly.. However, for the sake of a fandom/subculture that I take VERY much pride in being a part of.. I will just say this.. I cannot let the Furry group be considered, for all involved in it, as a "terrible and sick pornographic content" group of people.. So bassicly I'm saying Fox Network and anyone else who has a problem with the Furry Group in SL, can shove it up their ass.. right up in there and toy with it a bit.. now hows that for "terrible and sick pornographic content"? |

Did you miss the tags at the top and bottom of the post that indicate it was basically sarcasm? I can see BDSM, yes that is "terrible and sick pornographic content".. but how can you take a whole subculture, like furries and label us "terrible and sick pornographic content"... Do you not see the incredible irony in your statement here? You scream about the injustice of furries being lumped together in the SAME SENTENCE you condemn anyone who practices BDSM in any form for their "terrible and sick pornographic" practices? No, they need a far bigger rolls eyes icon. This one just doesnt do it justice. |

You're right... I know what the post was intended for, and the tone used.. I did judge that. and yes, I did condem the BDSM culture.. true.. bad play on words really on my part. I didn't intend for it to come out that way. Nevertheless, I made my post just to express how pissed off I am that there is even slight consideration that that kind of label be placed on the furry fandom. Thats all.. oh and Kris, I really do not appreciate how hard you came down on me about my post, but that neither here nor there. |

Even tho the original post i replied to was posted to imply how "cynical" people are.. The examples used were BDSM and FURRY, were they not.. So I published my reply based on the fact that we were used as an example.. thus implying that were are the said label given..

I'm sorry if you feel offended by my post. It was actually intented to imply complete stereotypical and sensationalist imaging used for the benefit of a political agenda by a major news station. And should be taken with a big grain of salt. It in no way expressed my opinions on both Furrydom or BDSM or any of their subcultures.
SL allows for a wide variety of expressions and cultures, and generally has a great tolerance to those and that is actually one of my main attractions to the place. _____________________
