There are a few nobby things that bug me, and yes, I told people about 'em. It won't require you to totally re-learn building, but they'll be there to be dealt with. I think the point Lordfly is trying to make, and myself by extension is -- if you change anything, give us an option (and at this point, I don't care if I have to hack .ini's to do it) to revert to prior behavior.

Thats all, really. It would save a lot of headache for everyone. I can adapt to the tools, because frankly I'm addicted to building - but I can't speak for everyone else.

We love SL Philip, really.

So what we need is a set of reference points that are somehow useful in aligning objects with each other (the point in space where this object just touches this other object, etc.) or spacing them out in a well defined way. And we wanted these reference points to be always visible and usable, without getting in the way if you don't want to use them. That's where the "ruler" metaphor came in. We could add a variety of tick marks and reference points such that you can see what your snap options are at all times, but, because they are placed off the axis you don't have to use them. The rulers are, in UI terminology, "modeless."
Ah. I get it now. It makes a lot of sense when you put it that way.

I actually like the new build tools, but then again, I am just learning how to build.

I suppose if I had gotten used to another way of doing it, I might be kind of dismayed. But it seems definitely easier to me to manage objects in 1.6 than 1.5.

I for one love the new movement handles. In my opinion, this is perhaps the single most important building tool that SL has been lacking up until now. Before this point, it's been entirely too easy to move things by mistake, simply by dragging the mouse.

yeah, see, that happens to new builders all the time.

One thing I would like, is a way to lock rotation so that it could ONLY occur on one axis at a time. I know you have to look for the rotation bars to highlight, but it's so easy to mis-click and spin the hell out of something.
If you could type Ctrl-Shift-X (or something) and have only the X-axis chosen for rotation, that would be rad.

Yes. Damnitall, I've said this before, and I'll say it again.

Lindens.

OPTIONS

Always options.

I've always tried stressing this. Hasn't helped yet. :(

WTF is C3PO supposed to be USEFUL for anyway, besides whining? Stupid piece of scrap metal would be more useful recycled as a toaster. But even that would suck, because who would want to listen to a whining wussy toaster? Is he gold plated? If that's the case he should just be melted down into gold ingots. Help the economy some, and stop being so damn useless you stupid bucket of bolts! R2 is 1,000 times more useful than your tin man ass, and he's shaped like a salt and pepper shaker FFS!
