Personally, I find this new feature annoying. Especially when you combine it with the new llLoadURL() that opens a browser window, this bright idea of cutting sound seems to make no sense at all!
It was entirely trivial to just hit stop in the media control if the music was annoying.
Personally, on the sound front, the ability to set "No Gesture Sounds Thank You Very Much" in my prefs would be FAR more useful.
OK, so now for what I believe to be the truly constructive comment (since I've said my piece elsewhere on the effects of chat bubbles grrrr)...
I think it would help enormously if the people who come up with the new feature list would be compelled to spend a lot more time in-world, and experience the effects for themselves.
