I don't know what the Lindens fixed last night on the asset servers, but performance is MUCH better this morning!
I crashed last night while trying to change clothes. I'm on a Mac, and the entire several-hour long session I was having problems with textures that wouldn't rez, or which would lose a texture almost as soon as it loaded. The only reason I stayed on as long as I did was that I really wanted to interact with two friends that I don't get to play with all that often. But it was a real trial last night. Very laggy.
This morning? WOW! I can change clothes in an eye-blink! I have NEVER seen it rez in my new clothing changes so fast! I tried moving some non-critical items into and out of inventory, and that also got a very crisp response.
THANK YOU to the Lindens who put in that fix last night!

THANK YOU to the Lindens who put in that fix last night! I noticed this too. It actually started getting modestly better late last night, and by this morning I feel I'm running at pre-update quality (although I was only first here a few days prior to the update, so take that for what you will). Anyhow, here's hoping the next few days will see everyone fat and happy again!

Yes, I think WOW is much better. Two days ago when I tried to log into the Bloodhoof server on World Of Warcraft I couldn't get in, and then when I DID get in I kept getting loot lag and having to reboot my machine! Last night, however, I was able to get in fine, and get my Tauren Hunter up to level 13!
OH, this is the SL forum, that's right. I did log in to SecondLife for about an hour last night and gave up when I couldn't save/recompile scripts due to "known asset server problems". But, more importantly, my Tauren Hunter now has a pet bobcat AND a pet wolf, both at level 12...

Just a GAME? Just a GAME? World of Warcraft is NOT just a game, it's an advanced virtual platform for the study of human/Tauren interaction, leatherworking, and interspecial... Aw, who am I kidding... And, SL _is_ a game already, I already posted the walkthrough and spoilertext for the end of the game over here
