Greetings Panthers, Warriors, Outlaws, Free Men and Women, Slaves and Others,
On behalf of the sim of Laura we would like to thank you for your outpouring of goodwill, fun and support of the Great Gorean Auction of Laura.
The sim stayed at around 65 attendees for hours. A grand total of 328,953L was bid with 25% or 82,238L going for the on-going support of the Laura sim, graciously owned and provided by Cheiftess Grace Loudon. This beautiful wilderness sim is beloved by all and it was a pleasure being able to give back to support the on-going growth and development of Laura.
Kudos go to Machaon Basiat who set the record for a winning bid of 35,000L for the lovely Manon Mirabeau.
Until the next time...

I hear that's a steal as Manon Mirabeau comes with 0% financing and a 5 year warrantee.

I recently got my hands a severely modified 'Degorean', with all sorts of funny light u p doo-dads in the cockpit and these great gaping fin things on the back. The buyer said he didn't need it anymore, and to be careful driving highway speeds with it. And some muttering about albanion terrorists or something, whatever, sweet ride, tho.

Funny things have been happening lately in one of my sims. I have a port town sim, which is a lot of fun and is proving to be very popular. But regularly and predictably, we get the same question from a particular type of visitor. Usually it's a 'buffed' male avatar who asks (god knows what the real person looks like). They wander around some, then ask: "Where is the slave market?" Every property on the wharf front happens to be controlled by businesses owned by women. They laugh, and say there is no slave market at all. I tell them: If you want to get to know any of the women in the sim, you better be cool, interesting, decent, and worth knowing. Money ain't gonna get you anywhere - some of them are doing rather well and could easily buy you, not the other way around. Finally, I think I figured out what is going on. Friendly, free Port Caledon comes up before "Port Cos" when you type in "Port C" on the map and visitors get confused - I think that's what's generally happening, from talking to one fellow. I've never been to a Gorean sim, but I suspect that's always the intended destination. Well, now I guess I got one more place to send such visitors - I'll refer them to Laura as well!

Come on now! Be nice everyone. We had a great night...the winning bid just getting you two hours of your heart's desire. Don't knock something you have not tried...better yet, IM me in game and we will put you up on the block next time and see what happens. This was a OOC (out of character auction) event and not a (role play) RP auction.

A thread like this provides boundless comic opportunities, but I wonder aloud "at what point does the humor reflect intolerance?".
My av has never gotten 35,000L in a bid. In fact, she'd be hard-pressed to draw .02. But with the end of dwell, maybe the Goreans have struck on an alternate money-making idea for impoverished land barons?

This thread does probably belong on the Bulliten Board area rather than this one?
Since its the gorean version of a "Thanks for the great event, everyone" thread.
*** Although looking at the staggering figures my SL income suddenly seems extremely small.
There goes the idea of buying a gorean slave to keep the windows in my store clean.

If I ever have the urge to auction myself, I'll let you know! Though I'm not sure what anyone here would wanna do with a Desmond for two hours. What's more, I'm straight - how much more boring could a person get?
