regardless of current forum threads, i have been a friend of billy's for a while. not an 'inner circle' friend, just someone i didn't see often.. but who's company i enjoyed in person (well, in avatar) whenever that happened to occur.

i'm not posting this as defensive, offensive or re-actionary in purpose. i simply want to address this before any responses in this thread threaten to spiral out of control. although, i'll agree it was a joke taken too far.. but that's it. i don't think he ever intended any offense and that's why his apology sounds true to me and i'm sorry to see things have turned out this way. things will be as they will be. and none of us are truly involved in a way they are. i'm leaving them their space and hope everyone else here will do the same.

thank you for your attention and i hope i didn't sound haughty/inflammatory, i just wanted to be clear of my purpose in posting this. at the same time, yes.. i took advantage of this space to more clearly define where i stand. but i expect no responses to my stance.. positive or negative. it's simply for you to know where i'm coming from when i'm wishing him a Happy Birthday.

Well, actually, billy only just had a birthday thread... in which he said November 1st was his 21st. It's still right here on the front page of the Well Wishes forum. /140/92/69279/1.html.

Dunno if Cybins one here is a belated one or what, but I don't see why billy should get two birthdays in as many weeks! boo! no fair!

i never saw the earlier birthday thread, so i apologize if this is a dulplicate.

i simply saw in the "Birthdays" section at the front of the forums that it said "billy Madison", so regardless of whatever else is going on, i decided to say Happy Birthday.

once more, i simply wished this to be a non-inflammatory thread. i didn't mean to stir up another thread where insults are thrown about.

this isn't "faked", not sure how it could be.. *confused look*

i wasn't saying he's innocent, simply that i have a stance that's not as harsh as some and not as supportive as others. there were elements in all of this that could easily have been taken offensively, but there are other elements that i also consider when looking at the whole picture as i know it.

again, i started this thread to say "Happy Birthday" to someone i've had some pleasnant experiences with.

just in this one thread, i ask that we put the drahma on hold. do what you will elsewhere, but i personally have a strong distaste for getting involed in threads that devolve into a negative string of comments. i know it could be argued, "then why start this thread?", but i've explained that already.

i'm not pointing fingers at anyone, just a blanket statement asking for some peace and quiet for a moment is all.

No, I wasn't saying your birthday wish was fake, just that he's changed the date of his birthday and this is his second birthday in November. So when's his birthday? Dunno, bet it's not today though, or the 1st for that matter. He's a slippery little fellow like that with the truth.

I'd like to apologize for the negative tone I orginally took at this thread. You were trying to do a nice-non dramatic thing, and I snapped, which got this ball rolling.

With billy it's been a long time coming for me, there are a lot of issues that have built up over time, but I certainly could and should have chosen a more appropriate place to express my opinions.
