From: stpaulsub Clio What is the percentage of american's who vote in local elections? Personally, i don't want every body to vote i want peopel who care enough to go a little out of their way to do it stop whinning! i knew i voted and i brought in several people to vote including at least 1 who have posted here about how they didn't know about it! so you missed it you didn't get to nominate yourself! get over it i am so flippin tired of every thread that tries to post a positive attaboy becoming the grounds for malcontents to whine and bitch because they weren't personally given a invitation Quite finished? 1. Wouldn't have nominated myself anyway, but I do have a clear idea of who I would have nominated. 2. This isn't about a personal invitation. I'm really tired of people thinking that you cannot question what somebody does. Why should it be that peopel are beyond reproach or comment? *shrug* You're all kind of over-sensitive it would seem.

Phaylen, it was a great idea, and you obviously put in a lot of effort but, by your own admission, you weren't equipped or connected enough to actually take it to the community and make it anything other than a few people's opinion. That's my whole point. It's not that I disapprove as you put it, I certainly don't. It's that the way you've presented it creates an impression that you had the community at large participate when it appears quite obvious that isn't the case.
Hopefully if you do it next year you'll be better connected, the idea better known about and you'll be able to get a wider cross-section of the community involved in the nomination and voting process to give what you're presenting the validity and weight behind it that it needs.
If I'm still around then I'll be more than willing to help spread the word and help you put it out to the community in a much more visible fashion.

No i'm not done as long as you continue piss on a positive event see that is the difference, a reasonable person asks a question about things, Someone who thinks they are "special" questions people about things. had you ask questions about how it was done instead of whinning about how YOU didn't know because people didn't go to enought effort to make sure that YOU knew about it. Why is it that peopel should be above common curtesy and good manners? you can ask questions without attacking. and what makess you think your questions are important enough to be be addressed in a thread about thanking those who did take the time to find out about it and participate? Why is it you managed to find this thread but none of those before it? This is not about being overly sensitive , this is about being sick of people pissing on every positive thread that is started because they think they are special and feel left out

First, I did find another thread about this before the events night but, guess what, after the nominations and voting had finished. I asked on that thread what on earth it was all about. Here's a link for you: /140/c2/95281/1.htmlYou seem to be the worst sort of person to argue with - it's apparent that you believe that nothing should be questioned and resort to abuse of those who do. That doesn't seem real mature to me, but then hey apparently I think I'm "special" by your reasoning. If you really think I've been attacking then any sort of questions must appear to be an attack to you. It's the same old same old with some people. If you dare question things, rather than joining in the group hug and love in, you're painted as some sort of self-centered, egotistical whining individual, who's only doing it because they're either jealous or think they're something special. What a joke some of you are. It's kind of like having big protectionist gangs roaming the forums, slapping down anybody who doesn't toe the line and join in the group hug without reservation. ThoughtMods.

ThoughtMods. oh but saying that anybody who questions your methods is immature? ok i get it! i don't need a link, i managed all by my poor lil immature self to find teh posts and go vote, i even found the location for the vote without a ingraved invitation, without global banners telling me about it. No i have no problem with asking questions what i have a problen with is your attitude that because you didn't know about it some how the entire thing was invalidated, It is you who does not get it, that there is a difference between askin questions and pissing on someones good feelings. i Love peopel who hide behind attacks on others with "im just asking a question" you didn't ask any questions you basically said that because you hadn't heard about it that it wasn't really all inclusive later you offered to help but not til you had nade sure that everyone knew that you thought it was poorly done and you could have done better. Again ask all the questions you want but do it in a positive manner or don't you know how?

I don't know if you're purposefully misreading or misinterpreting what I'm writing, or whether you're having trouble comprehending my point but to continue any argument with you would appear to be a vast waste of time and energy. Believe what you wish to believe about my motives for my comments or how I have presented them. Please, have at it.

From: Moopf Murray Whilst I'm sure a lot of effort was put into this, what still bemuses me is that I cannot find a single thread, announcement or posting that asked people to nominate, that announced who the nominations where and which asked people to vote. Nothing. Nada. And you spent 2 months planning this?? A lot of people didn't have the faintest idea that this was happening, as was highlighted by a thread you started recently about the person designing the award object. I can't understand why you'd put so much effort into something and apparently not push the initial nomination and voting part of it. Not having done so makes these awards seem kind of pointless. It's basically a poll of the minority who knew about it, and that detracts a great deal from the grandeur of what you've actually done. wow you are right! i retract everything i have said and appologise...going back to this post i see..yes it was just a innocent question, not a snide commentary ment to belittle others efforts or to imply because you didn't notice it, it had no validity! i'm very sorry, i cannot imagine how i possibly could have seen this as a negitive post and not the sweet attempt to help get the word out better next year that it was ment as! i mean useing words like pointless shouldn't be construed as belittleing anybody, what was i thinking? But i agree continueing this is pointless you refuse to see my point either that asking questions is good but there is no need to do it in a negitive manner. your motives are of absolutly no interest to me, it was your manner i reacted to! Be well i am now goin to bed i wish you a wonderful week!

Well said! It seems to me that only two types of posts are welcome by many: Ass kissing ones, or ass kicking ones. If someone states an opionon that is intended as neither, there are always people who will try to fit it's intent into one of those boxes.

Phay, it definitely wasn't about winning or losing for Nala and I. We were floored to even be nominated. We don't think of ourselves as innovative or popular. So, for others to have seen something in us that was worth the effort to vote us onto the ballot was flattering and humbling in and of itself.
I'm glad you did this for the reasons you did it. I'm glad you'll do it again next year. You'll always have your nay-sayers and party-pissers but you've shown your true colors and darling, those colors are brilliant and beautiful. <3
