Update on N'burg Conflict

This post is an update on the ongoing N'burg conflict and is recommended for technocrats only, as it's completely lacking in easily accessible drama. So far no progress has been made on any of the points and communication with officials is virtually nonexistent. I keep hoping we'll turn a corner but the list of transgressions seems to be growing rather than shrinking.

The list of transgressions are as follows:

1. There was an illegal trial that violated the constitution by denying the charged a right to trial by jury. From Article III, Section 6 of the Constitution, "Hearings and trials not involving government officials will be overseen by a single Professor and judgment will be decided by a jury of peers."
   
2. In response to the accusation that the trial was illegal, the SC stated that foreigners are not provided due process, which is in violation of the Bill of Rights Articles 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11.
   
3. The sentence is extreme in that its duration is without limit and its discussion was not present in the transcripts.
   
4. Two N'burg government officials have engaged in and supported the unauthorized reproduction and distribution (piracy) of the work of others. Detailed documentation with screenshots and quotes can be found here.
   
5. Three N'burg government officials, one of whom admits to not recognizing the government, violated law N 3-10 by reverse engineering and deleting historic city structures without RA approval.

All of this information is verifiable either in written documents, transcripts, and screen shots and self evident to those willing to spend the time to understand it. I'm currently working on a web page that details all these transgressions in detail.

Sadly, the best defense most in the city can muster is fallacious argumentum ad hominem, which involves replying to an argument or assertion by attacking the person presenting the argument instead of the argument itself. It's the rhetorical version of sending in the goons to rough up the facts.

Because the failure to adhere to its own Constitution and Bill of Rights impacts the credibility of the project and its government officials, I'm hoping that keeping this in the public eye will motivate officials to seek a resolution.

I thought about asking for this to be moved. Maybe Ulrika feels that if it was posted in the Group forum, it would be deleted? (Though perhaps she should have done that, and if it was deleted, she could have added that to the list of offenses?)

I think if she made one of these forums.. and not a single person made any reply... maybe... just maybe it would go away.

Yeah, and maybe she just missed being one of SL's Queens of Drama.

Just a note to resmods...

In case you are wondering, the moderators in the Nburg group forum are currently being super duper nice to Ulrika and leaving all of her posts up even the abusive ones.

They are not deleting threads nor banning her from posting under the (I think mistaken) idea that she will eventually modify her behavior.

So if anyone is as tired as I am of seeing Ulrika take up all the space in General with threads that are essentially about internal Neualtenburg issues and cat fights, please feel free to move them to the Nburg forum.

They will not (as far as I am aware) be deleted.

Please keep it in the N'burg thread. I'm glad to hear her posts are being allowed there.... a case could be made if they were being deleted. They're not. So curtain off the drama there. Thank you. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
