I AM WRITING THIS IN CAPS CAUSE I AM EXPRESSING THE TOTAL DISTASTE FOR YOURS AND THE LINDENS JOKE BRENT LINDEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THAT IS TOTALLY OUT OF POOR TASTE. BAD ENOUGH IN REAL LIFE WE HAVE TO DEAL WITH TAXES FOR THIS AND THAT DONT BRING IT INTO SECOND LIFE. I WOULD HOPE SOME THERE COULD HAVE HAD MORE IMAGINATION THAT TO TAKE A REAL LIFE ISSUE AND PUT IT INTO SECCOND LIFE AS AN APRIL FOOLS JOKE

Let me illustrate the exact same thing in real life. i was going to write happy april fools day and the date on our date board at work i work as a unit secretary at a hospital. but the lady in the room next to the date board was terminal cancer not expected to live out the the night or the next day. her family was coming from different states and all. now wouldnt that look tacky up on the board , writing Happy April Fools Day, when her family came in????????????

SAME THING BRENT NOT FUNNY TOTALLY TACKY YOURS AND THE LINDEN'S JOKE ABOUT THE TAXES.

I knew it was an April's fools from the offset, and your example is nothing like what the linden's did. Why were you so scared of taxes anyways? =P

The metajoke of it is just too much.

Hey now back off her, she didn't find it funny is all. No need to suggest drugs or a shrink and such, ppl. Now I think you folks went a little over board.

Everyone calm down. Jokes were apparently in abundance today. We just should of known :D

Hugz the OP.

If this reaction is real it has entirely validated the joke and increased the humour of it immensely. If not, then what a lovely meta-joke. I applaud this thread! :D

Oh, and who the hell wishes people "happy April fool's day"?

Tsk tsk. You're not meant to play April fools after midday.

I am locking this..
From: someone
  1. Private discussions – the forums are a public area for the Second Life community’s use. Individuals who have a dispute with each other have other channels of communication to discuss their differences or communicate – private messaging, IM within Second Life, or chatting within Second Life. Also, threads that are addressed to a single individual or group are inappropriate on the forums, this includes slander or "naming names" in a posts title, starting polls about a particular resident or group, etc.
  2. Think before you post – sometimes in the heat of a passionate discussion you may be tempted to say something that on reflection you will regret. If your words do more harm to the community than they might give you pleasure in the short term, reconsider posting.
  3. Flaming, Spamming, Trolling – Flaming (posting a message that is intended to incite anger or directly attack a person or persons), Spamming (multiple posts of the same topic or discussion), and Trolling (a post with an intentionally contrary opinion written with the intent of inciting or getting argumentative opinions) are strongly discouraged. If you think your post might be over-reactive, or that it might fall into one of these definitions, please reconsider posting.

This thread is closed until further notice.. and possibly after that as well.

April Fool's Day is now over--in some time zones, anyway. I understand the sensitivity towards financial burdens; but hope that even in our darkest moments, we can celebrate humor to better ourselves.

I am going to move this thread to Notices and Well Wishes as it's a specific addressment; however I am keeping the thread closed as it appears to have run its course.

Hope next April Fool's will be a happier one.
