I want to congratulate Merwan Marker and Mercurious Monde (wow, that's a LOT of Ms) on their one-year anniversary! Both have been wonderful friends to me since I've gotten to know them. We all started around the same time and have been friends ever since.
Relationships are often fleeting in Second Life, and its fast pace. While I've only been in Second Life 18 months, it often feels more like 18 years!
A relationship lasting a full year, especially with the twists and turns of SL, is truly something to be celebrated! Merwan and Mercurious have both been influential, kind, funny, and generous to a fault during their time in Second Life. Anyone getting to know either of them has truly been enriched.
So raise the virtual champagne glass with me in a salute to one of SL's finest couples!

One year together, it is amazing. There are those who question the authenticity of SL relationships, but those of us who have been involved in long term romantic relationships in SL know it is real, so real. Both good and bad real.
Baccara told me about a study where it was concluded that one day of involvement in a online relationship in a virtual world was the equivalent of 5 days involvement in the “real world.” That means that one year together in SL is the equivalent of a 5 year RL relationship. No wonder it feels so real. Vade left me on our one year SL anniversary without any explanation or good bye. He was just gone, and it broke my heart. Yes, that hurt was very real. Cherish one another because even though SL relationships are untraditional, they are real. _____________________
