Just something I posted in the Land and the Economy forum but which I felt should have attention brought to it if there is indeed a problem.

The original poster suggested cutting the premium stipend;

From: I
Keep the stipend as it is, I pay for premium expecting L$500 each week for certain. If they cut it any lower, I get rid of premium, 'nuff said on that.

Instead they should just add in one of the many (and IMO mostly very good ideas) for charging money on the p2p teleport system.

Simply:
p2p teleport to a parcel is disabled by default
To enable it you must pay a fee per month (nothing too high)
For parcels where it is enabled, users may purchase p2p landmarks. If p2p is disabled on a parcel then it may enable this instead, residents pay a small fee to purchase a landmark that TPs them direct to where they want to go, a small portion of this could go to the land-owner as well.
Members of the group for a parcel, or who are on the access list may freely set the land to be their home, and can create p2p landmarks (these are transferable btw).

Keeps p2p teleporting functional, but provides extra sink-holes for L$, if you don't want to pay, then you are TPed to one of the old telehubs instead and can fly like everybody used to in the old days.

To counteract claims of it being too bad a system, users could be allowed a number of free TPs per day (to enabled plots of land). You basically get say...3 for basic and 5 for premium, and the count resets each day. So every day you start off with the max free teleports.

Just my thoughts, and IMO the above is how p2p teleporting should have started out, especially in light of several claims of using the p2p system to grief far more easily. It also provides a very nice sinkhole for L$, especially on marauding basic accounts who will quickly clear their balance by abusing this.

All numbers supplied are purely as examples.

That thread really had some good discussion but looks like it went quiet.

Looks like this type of mechanism was actually discussed before P2P was widely available, and several other things were suggested, like "P2P ONLY for Premium accounts" and whatnot. But, the way it turned out: an avatar's basic rights of movement in the world should not be restricted, so it's freeing to P2P TP about. It's really convenient not to worry about it either, especially with 1.9's superspeedy new TPs.

The simplicity is delicious.

Alas, Infohubs are not Telehubs, nor do they serve the same purposes. They are in flux, I doubt there will be so many in the future, and the grid is a very different place now. :)
