Please correct me if I am wrong. Is there no way to script the lighting in v1.9?

CODE
llSetPrimitiveParams([PRIM_MATERIAL, PRIM_MATERIAL_LIGHT]);

Is trashed!
It no longer works!

If this is the case,

How will the street lights come on after dark?
How will all the homes that have light switches work?
How will other scripted lighting products work?

All the thousands of objects that have scripted lighting will no longer work! It appears that you are releasing this new version with no regard to this issue. Is there a set of functions for the new lighting system? Can you please share them with us?

If not, then you are basically releasing this new version in total disregard to all of the products makers who have put forth many hours scripting lighting products and have given them no way of rescripting them once this new version is released.

I hope that I am wrong and that you plan on posting a set of script functions with the release of the new version. You don't really expect people to go into edit mode everytime they need to turn on the lights do you?

Best regards,
MadamG

Ah--looks like MadamG, Selador, and Barbarra... you all asked related Qs about scripting lights. First thought that came to my mind seeing a police siren using the new light system: "I want to turn that on and off."
Good to know.

Forwarding this to Steve, who knows best. :)
