Are my questions too hard? :(
I think you all forgot about this one that's now buried beneath the endless questions in this particular forum.LOL

I was only reminded of this because after filing another abuse report I received another "cookie cutter" reply that said it had been resolved nd to look on the police blotter - which showed no indication of resolution.

I'm anxious to hear your reply.:p

Hi MadamG! Oh no, it's *not* because it's too hard... let me fill you in on what I know and take this down to the ground floor; it's important!

What we know: ABUSE REPORTING IS A SCALING CHALLENGE. As the world gets bigger, so many more ARs get filed, our staff is working so hard! We've been proactive to take steps to make things less frictiony and more clear, especially when you aren't happy with the vagueness.

Remember when the ability to Report Abuse via "PvP Abuse" dialog was removed? That chopped down a lot of false abuse reports by like more than 50%. More steps will be taken.

We also know the Police Blotter doesn't contain some useful bits of info, and only shows the last 25.

These shortcomings are mostly contained to be addressed in an "umbrella" project which I don't have a timeframe on.

No, special treatment isn't given.

Your best bet is to contact abuse-manager@secondlife.com--all emails there are read, but in part because of the volume, all can't be replied to. Managing expectations. However, the future changes I mention tie into this because they should enable the system to work clearer, crisper, and give Residents a better understanding of "What is abuse in Second Life, how do I report it, and what gets done?" Definitions which will change as times do too.

I know it's frustrating to be vague and not know more--I think the suggestion of: "saying that action WAS really taken as part of a resolution wouldn't be so vague, and more helpful to assist someone in knowing what happened" is already in the system of things to do.

So please pardon the current frustration but do KNOW we are AWARE and I'll gladly advocate on behalf of Resis concerned about this.

*includes your post in the project file*
