Lidex visibilty to non-residents - 2 -

This may seem like a strange question coming from a resident - but here it comes anyhows.

How come viewing the market data for the Lindex is restricted to residents only ?

( Ie you can only get to it if you have logged on )

Surely it would make some sort of sense if non-residents ( IE Prospective Residents ) could see it and find out exactly how much a Linden Dollar is worth...

I mean they can see all of the shop sites and find the cool stuff they wanna buy - but until they actually hit the button and become a member they cannot actually see what the "official" price is going to be for the toys they will want.

Had I known aboutbuying things before I came into SL, not knowing what the local currency was worth and having it "hidden" away behind a password screen would have put me off slightly.

Or did I miss something somewhere ?

Alright Adriana. It's not so much a matter of "we don't want to do it" as "we haven't done it yet". As you pointed out, it'd appeal to non-Residents to get a greater window into the world of Second Life, much as there are pictures and other info available.

We've currently got some incremental tasks in the pipeline to present more LindeX data visibly, similar to how it's been done for previous stats. We're going to continue on this track, so thanx for your interest and please keep watching!
