Hey guys first off the preview grid is a great idea i often use it and when i do experience a bug i do report it....now i know both u and i are disappointed about the number of users that use it i have been trying to think of a way to make it more appealing for people to test the first thing i think is that the preview like should maybe be higher on the download page cause people using a lower resolution might not see it right away and they might not even scroll to bottom of page...maybe have it like on the right side of the page a box saying something like....want to help shape the next SL patch click here to get latest development client....that would make more people aware that it is there....now to get them in (don't even know if this is possible) but have unlimited L$ on the grid...since nothing affects the main grid...and that would allow for more users to test land management features or maybe make have like a dedicated sandbox area where all the land is free just for that...or maybe make it so that everything on the grid is priced at 0 or 1L$ by default so that everyone can test new items being made...

Those are my ideas...am also interested in finding out how many users use the preview...on average...I'm thinking like in the 500's or so anyways thank for you time guys

Thanks for your suggestions, Haramino. Some points:

* You have a point about the "Preview" link being hard to find on http://secondlife.com/community/downloads.php It's right at the bottom and non-emphasized. I'll be sure to suggest this!

* One prob we had with giving large sums of L$ before was Residents just using the Preview to test out uploads without doing other things. Granted, if you have a legitimate reason for more L$, please let us know, but most transaction tests and debugging can be done with modest sums.

* Land buying shortage has come up a few times. Not a *big* issue that I'm aware of. If it happens to you, please don't hesitate to contact Milo Linden about it, he's super.

* Residents who come onto Preview Grid are free to set their creations for whatever L$ they want for others to test. I know Luskwood did this. Good on them.

There was a related question about preview stats, and I'm asking further: /139/d3/122763/1.html
