And it's one I have heard a lot in world. Really existing bugs should be entirely cleared up before upgrading and introing new ones. I know things are on a timetable but maybe corporate needs to realise that making more bugs rather than fixing the old ones first is necessary. rfer to this thread... /139/33/97800/1.htmlI'd like to think it's new bugs created by adding features however I know personally there are some I started reporting last summer than have never gotten fixed. IMHO, I see a bug hole getting dug deeper all the time and people falling into it left and right with little satisfactory response. Maybe new versions should get tested on a complete secondary grid under full load and for a longer period of time. I've worked for toher companies that used the shove the upgrade through fast theory and can pretty much say, in every case it produced ultimate disaster.

Hey again Dmitri! One of the scariest things on the whole about the word "bug" is it can encapsulate many things. Just like not having well-defined goals makes for a confusing and stressed life, to really squash a bug, it must be pinpointed and effectively reproduced. (Which is far better than the alternative, "THINGS ARE BROKEN!" So... if you have specific bugs in mind with how to get them to show, step-by-step, that's a good start. There are indeed some bugs in SL which have been around for the darn longest time which I know many Resis--and myself--would like to see fixed. "Ruthing" (turning into a generic female avatar after teleporting) is one of them. Some of these aren't even technically "bugs", but better useability overall. (Remember how hard it used to be to Buy Land? Or what about the sluggishness of teleporting? Or avatar and object ghosting?) I for one want a clear button to Partner in the profile; there is no self-explanatory way to do it unless you already at the website, and the emotional disconnect that causes is strange. And everything that is fixed, which is what I like to focus on to show what has gotten done, is of course announced in the Release Notes. Preview Grids are great, and some past ones have been up for extensive amount of time. Nevertheless, there are problems which won't show up in theoretical conditions, and which will only manifest themselves in practical day-to-day use... e.g. you come across it in the course of your Second Life. So, to reiterate, I suggest: start with specifics. Feel free to email me (torley@lindenlab.com) with a certain bug from last summer that's still existing, and that you've got a solid step-by-step repro for. Even better yet: tell me about friends of yours who've also mentioned the same problem. Something which helps get bugs prioritized for fixing is knowing how much it impairs your ability to enjoy SL, and how many it's directly affected. Second Life belongs to the Residents, and social awareness matters.
