I haveto repeatedly hit my head against my monitor using the all purpose mantra "theres no place like home, give the dog a bone, Im entering a nofly zone"
The new welcome area design is lovely except for one slight tiny flaw.
Why oh why did you create the central area, you know that place where everyone meets as an intersection of FOUR sim lines.
Now I know you probably thought 4 times the sim, split the amount of people between them.
Or Maybe just maybe you wanted to show of the excellent sim crossing technology.
Bu but please for the love of the holy AMD dual core change it back please tell me was this a practical joke for april fool.
I'm not all about criticism, why not make one zone with 4 times the pc power or something.
The sim lines cause much fun and jokes but after awhile the problems make the laughs stop.
Welcome area is crowded anyway it can be a laugh to see a friend try to walk or holy amd forgive, fly 5m across 2 sim lines in the central area and see them disapear into the sunset. here comes jonny.....there goes jonny ohh watch out jonny your entering the combat area.
scripts (not suposed to work some do) as you stand over sim lines, wierd effects like yesterday I jumped and got stuck 6m in the air even even relog didn't help, hadto tp home.
conversations not carrying to your friend who is standing 3 m away over a sim line.
I know i'm being sarcastic and making abit of fun, but its either laugh or cry at this point.
Okay first question over.
--------------
The dbase and basically the whole system needs a reworking, either split into zones etc (don't know how you have it setup atm seriously contact me in private emails to discuss ideas on dbase performance although my work with them is mainly on java/mysql online games).
I and I think alot of others would love you to stop these little newcam patches and going to toilet title patches (although I do look forward to the "is eating" title and "is typing" title) and announce no more patches for 2 months or 6 or for how ever long it takes to do the following.
1)creation of admin tools (your tools) that allow
relocation of all cancelled accounts and items todo with them to a backup dbase.
show non used textures in the dbase and removal of such
2)redesign of the dbase and system based on a model of projected users * 2
Most of us wouldn't mind waiting for a patch waiting for something if it was a biggy, if it helped fix the performance issues.
What i'm saying is we need to fix the problems and bugs we have before adding anything else, yes little jonny wants his shiny new toy but first we better make sure the room is ready he wants to play with that toy in.
---
Maybe i'm wrong and you have already fixed the dbase issues size/texture/item count etc and can spend time giving us a new title.
and remember in the voting system of what we want, what WE as players want may not be what we need.
SL is an amazing adventure into the future of computer simulations, but the buck stops with you not us.
I know this myself from running my own online game, sometimes I hadto do things that players didn't like but thats because I saw the future benefits for them beyond there own wants.
