When I tell friends who work in the web or interactive media about Second Life, they are often curious about it from a professional standpoint, and ask how many users SL has. I give them the number fom the secondllife.com homepage, which is steadily climbing, but I'm guessing that number includes known alts as well as accounts that haven't been active in a long time, including a few that haven't been used since their creation date.
Where could I find out about how many users are regularly active in SL?

Hello frank, someone else recently asked me about this too. We do have a stat much closer to what you're asking for: "Residents Logged-In During Last 60 Days" which counts unique logins. Robin explains more about the background of how it's counted here, and you can view the stats here: https://secondlife.com/currency/economy.php
