It was my understanding that land which was once used to house telehubs - then transformed into infohubs - and then finally left vacant after the infohubs were taken away - was going to be left as protected linden land, and not put up for auction/re-sale. I was therefore rather disappointed to log in today, and discover that that my shopfront now abuts a group of newly-occupied first land parcels where the "Drinker" telehub used to be Naturally, I'm not amused. In the first instance, losing "protected" linden land along that side of my parcel has greatly decreased the commercial value of the land... but, more importantly, many of us declined LL's buyback offer on the basis of reassurances that these areas would NOT revert to public land (after all, a little zoned breathing space is a valuable thing on the mainland... worth more than the buyback price to some!) - so it's *extremely* disappointing to find out that this has happened. Has there been a change in policy on ex hub-sites? If so, I think an announcement should be made so that other people who are holding land in similar circumstances can be made aware of the potential devaluation. Or did somebody goof? Shep K.

Hey Shep, IIRC, way back in March '06, I stated at first that ex-Telehub land was going to be auctioned/sold off. Then, in came a lot of feedback to the contrary, so we responded and opened up the invitation for Residents to make good use of the land, keep it Linden-owned, and express themselves by creating Infohubs in a bridge between Lindens and Resis. Those Infohubs, currently recognized as Linden Locations, are on several of the former Telehub parcels. But not all. The remaining parcels of land were blanked (all objects returned) and left as Linden Land, but not exclusively protected that I can recall -- unless you find a post I or another Linden made otherwise. Let me know if you do so I can dig deeper. So I don't know of a change in policy. Protected Land parcels are named as such. Sorry to hear of your displeasure and for any confusion involving this.
