It's painfully obvious that the advent of cameras has seriously damaged the way permissions are handled in secondlife. My question is will these things be fixed or are coders responsible for adjusting their products and are their previous clients -- of which I have almost 1000 affected - going to get an explanation from Linden Labs? If it isn't going to be fixed by LL, I'd like to take the time to clarify to everyone that how aggravating this is and that the bahavior has to be stopped. This isn't just me, other developers have approached me with the same problems. Go to the Waterhead welcome area and play the game written by Ben Linden, an lsl expert. Oh wait, you CAN'T because although it once sorked, changes in lsl have broken it. Apparently it's on display to make the situation clear to everyone -- that even if you make no mistakes in coding, lsl itself will create bugs for you the road. Is the motto of lsl "Buyer Beware"? rant over... please confirm whether I have to code a new release or if I can wait this out.

Hello Web... I'm sorry, I'm unclear on what exactly has happened to you without more info. For example, does it relate to how a specific LSL function operates? A constant challenge in Second Life is adapting with changes and new innovations while doing our best to retain backwards compatibility so that existing content isn't broken--or, in instances where more drastic changes might be needed, we want to inform the community at large of what's going on. If it's a bug, of course it should be reported inworld from HELP menu ---> REPORT BUG. What's also helpful is since you already know other developers have expressed the same experiences, you can start a thread in Technical Issues and post your info there. Perhaps others who've felt the same way but don't know you're having these problems--yet--will join in, so we'll have a better overall understanding. Please help us know, step-by-step, the way it was before (expected) and the way it is now (observed). Update: sounds like what you're experiencing is related to what Damanios Thetan and eltee Statosky detailed, also in SL Answers.

First, pardon for the replicated post--didn't want to narrow our communication range here. These recent postings all detail related experiences, so to connect them: /139/b0/97398/1.html/139/d2/97502/1.html/139/ee/97281/1.html/139/ae/97520/1.html/54/f2/97438/1.htmlSecond, I'd like to apologize for the sheer frustration this has caused. As we have a history of doing--see Known Issues--we like to fix something like this agilely, sometimes quicker than a timeframe can be discussed, as was the case just the other day with the llXorBase64Strings problem. To confirm, "llReleaseControls should fail silently if you do not have permissions", allowing for automatic revocation of permissions for animations and soforth, has JUST been fixed internally. Which means, pending verification, should be addressed in the next version of Second Life ASAP.I witnessed amazing teamwork today in coordinating everything together. Help is on the way, please be assured we very much care about things like this!
