Linden-supported, Resident-run public sandbox peacekeepers?

Would it be possible for LL to code in support for "peacekeeper" privileges, for long-time residents that frequently use the public sandboxes?

The requirements to be a peacekeeper would be:
- Paid membership
- Over 1 year of paid membership already
- Good standing, no past suspensions by LL

The paid one year requirement helps keep griefers themselves from obtaining peacekeeper status, since the honest are not likely to do anything with peacekeeper privileges that would put their paid account at risk.

The peacekeeper's role would be to:
- Notify griefer (if available) in sim, and request them to move/delete objects
- Report unresolvable griefing to LL via normal channels before taking any punitive action, which briefly grants ban/return rights for 10 minutes
- Ban the griefers from all public sandboxes for up to 48 hrs
- Flag/screenshot object for inclusion with report, and return griefer object to the owner

The peacekeeper would also be permitted to resolve Deep Think conditions, where overlapping physical objects are causing massive sim lag, by:
- Notifying owner (if available) in sim, and request them to move/delete objects
- Reporting the Deep Think condition to LL, which briefly grants object edit/return rights for 10 minutes
- Moving the objects apart until Deep Think resolved, or
- Flag/screenshot object for inclusion with report, and returning the lag-inducing objects to the owner

The third role of the peacekeeper is to clean up huge messes that other residents have left in the sim for hours, which greatly detract from the experience of other residents. The peacekeeper would use the same methods, by:
- Attempting to contact owner to do cleanup themselves, first
- Report the cleanup action to LL, which grants object-return rights for 10 minutes
- All returned objects are flagged/screenshotted and included in the report

This way responsible residents who just want to keep the peace have a real stick to use against griefers and mess-makers that are just creating account after account, and meanwhile the peacekeepers would have the backup support of a log of the actions they took to resolve the griefing, deep think, or sim-cleanup problems.

(Personally I dropped my paid annual membership in Nov and exclusively work in sandboxes now. If something like this were possible, I'd be willing to resume being a paid member, just to help keep the peace in the sandboxes, land or not.)

You really thought this through!

I've also answered similar questions if you want to look for them, like:

It sounds like your proposal requires social infrastructure which would be more appropriate to be Resident-run than in official Linden sandboxes, but some of the features require Linden development time.

Ultimately, as I've mentioned on a number of occasions, I think there's a growing future for Resident sandboxes, with their own autoreturn rules, what can stay, volunteer helpers to clean up, etc.

Your suggestions for improvement — as are everyone's — are certainly welcome, but not generally considered the most doable or highest priority items right now. A lot of other things need to be done first, such as scaling how we handle abuse broadly.

I would suggest doing a Feature Voting Tool proposal if you want to continue to champion this, however. :)
