Torley, I never in my dreams would expect every question on the blog to get a response, however I do think that all topics started on the blog should have comments turned on so that even if LL doesn't respond to questions, other residents can.
The reason given to me by Robin for why the comments were off on the blog entry that discussed action being taken against copybot users was that there was already a discussion going on in another blog entry. IMO, if the blog entry was sooooo tied to the other blog entry shouldn't it have just been added to the previous as an update rather than another entry being made?
When LL doesn't open comments on a blog entry it just looks like they don't want any questions, won't have any questions, and are just daring us to post questions here or in another blog that is unrelated to it.
IMO the topic was different enough to warrant a new discussion if for nothing more than allowing you to get some pats on the back for taking some concrete action.
My origional question was, how do you decided when to open comments and when not to, and could your blog policy stating this be made public so you don't get 500 "please open comments" requests here? Every time you don't give us a chance to voice an opinion, question, or praise to a Linden announcement it looks as if you don't want to hear from us which I know is not the case.
also, just a suggestion, but perhapas the Linden responses to blog questions could be posted in the actual entry as updates so that they are easy to find. I appreciate the suggestion of a search but this would be even easier.
