Can you comment on the permissions problems people are seeing in this thread? Also, why is it no longer possible to delete or drag the contents out of "no mod" objects? No-mod used to mean you couldn't mod the prims and textures, and you couldn't add stuff, but it didn't apply to the contents. Yes, this will "break" the objects, but sometimes you NEED to be able to do that. If I'm rezzing a vehicle to use as a prop in a build I need to be able to remove the scripts to cut down on lag. Another time I bought an avatar with a broken script in it, back before this change was made... and I was able to fix it by putting a replacement script and the original animations in a new prim on another attachment point. Yes, I tried contacting the creator of the av to get it fixed before I started messing with it. Several times. No response.

Hmmm... Argent, I'm going to ask Kelly about this. Matt Enfield commented in that thread he talked to a Linden engineer; I don't know which one, but Kelly knows a lot about permissions (prior context on removing contents of no-mod objects: /139/07/107641/1.html )

Couple different issues here. In reverse order: If you can no longer take the contents out of a no-mod object then I believe that is a bug. Please report it as such, with repro if need be. You can say Kelly said it was a bug if you want. I would personally rate that as a semi serious bug, but it doesn't actually break content so it probably isn't 'critical'. Aaaaand as for the other thread.... That is a bug on the side of 'design flaw' and hard to fix. In a nut shell: When you rez an object we determine if the owner has changed since last rez. If it has then we apply the next owner permissions to the object when it is rezed. If you modify the permissions prior to first rez then problems ensue exactly as described in that thread. I seem to recall something being done to fix that in the past, and it is possible some solution to that got reverted or broken recently. If you are sure, and I mean really positive, that this is new behavior and can tell me exactly what version the behavior changed that would rock. It is equally possible that what I recall was an investigation into the bug and a determination that it was not going to be fixed any time soon. There are some devs who know more about permissions than I do, and I will forward that link to them.
