Content loss and support

During the grid outage occurred on sunday i've lost some objects.
I had just rezzed them in my land when the grid went down.

When i logged in again the objects weren't on the land anymore. One of them was no copy so it wasn't in my inventory.

I asked on Live Help and they suggested me to clear the cache (standard reply to unknown problem? what have to do the cache with this problem? even other people could see the objects weren't there) and then suggested to create a bug report.

I did as suggested and singe then i didn't received any information other than the automatic reply form the bug reporting system : [rt.lindenlab.com #351611] AutoReply: Bug: E:906 P:1 V1.10.6.0 (Fantasia)[Missing Content] "Lost object during grid outage" rt.lindenlab.com #351611

Here are my questions:

1) If the sim state was restored from a backup, why this has not been done for my inventory? This can cause serious content loss, not to mention waste of work and money

2) How can I get some serious support (no "clear your cache" suggestions) on this sort of problems? Is this forum the right place to look for?

I solved my problem by asking to the object creator and it was so kind to give a copy to me, but I can't beleve the "official solution" to this problem is "ask the creator".
What if he don't want to give a copy, or if he isn't online anymore, or he don't have a copy himself, of if I don't remember the name of the object creator?

Hi Raffaele, while we can't guarantee anything, we do the best we can with recovering content loss. We take these problems very seriously.

1) inventory is stored separately from simstate info--if it was possible to restore it, we'd do so. :\ 2) SL Answers isn't the right place 'cuz of what it says here in the big red sticky: /invalid_link.html

Individual account help should usually be asked about to Support.

Joshua Linden posted more details of what happened with the grid outage: /3/bd/122397/1.html

Doesn't realistically sound good that you can get stuff back; but running out of those options, yes, it's a good idea to ask the original creator. In Second Life, after all, copies of stuff don't incur the same cost to the creator that they would offline.

Best of hope with this tough situation.
