Under Preferences > Network, you can change the cache size as well as "clear" the cache (delete all the files off your drive). You can't change the location for the cache files, however.
Actually, it _is_ possible to change the cache location, as described here, and a few other places in the forum. Unfortunately, the links to the technical wiki on this topic no longer work (you get dumped to a very unhelpful top-level support page).

Question for LL: Why was this valuable information lost? Is it simply a casualty of the general Wiki issues from the earlier security breach?

However, the steps are roughly as follows:

1) Acquire the 'linkd.exe' utility. (No, sorry, I can't help you with this).

2) Make a directory on a drive that has sufficient space (say, F:\my_cache).

3) Delete your current SL cache folder entirely, found at:

C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name\Application Data\SecondLife\cache

(don't forget to empty your Recycle Bin, to free up the space).

4) Open a Command Prompt (Start->All Programs->Accessories->Command Prompt).

5) Use the linkd utility from the command prompt as follows:

linkd "C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name\Application Data\SecondLife\cache" "F:\my_cache"

If successful, you'll see something like:

Link created at: C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name\Application Data\SecondLife\cache

This will create what _looks_ like a 'cache' folder in "C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name\Application Data\SecondLife" - but it is really a link to "F:\my_cache" (and all cache files will be created there, even though they look like they're being created on your 'C:' drive).

Disclaimer: I am not responsible for any virii incurred in acquiring or using linkd.exe, problems encountered along the way, or damage incurred during the procedure. Which, perhaps, is why the method is no longer available on the support Wiki (only the Lindens would know for sure).

Good luck! :)
