Several days ago I asked "THE" question, when will it be fixed? .. and basically got a generic non-answer of we know... The question is still hanging...

Now we are in the 5th (or is it the 6th??) day of data errors, server problems, objects with a mind of their own, objects disapearing, strange physics problems (dont even TRY to tell me a prim with physics is SUPPOSED to try to roll up-hill on its own... I wont believe you) ... getting thrown several kilometers in a random direction, self starting teleports (that you never asked for and the system cant complete anyway.)

Stupidly, I've just spent countless hours over the last 5 days fighting the system to build a complex vehicle with physics, swearing and snarling at the prims, textures, and script changes that cant save and snap back to their base shape interlaced with outages and crashes....

But the stupid free poseball with it's $25L nocopy animation for my couch being eaten because the asset server could "take" it from the couch but not put it into my inventory during that operation seems FAR worse...

I know it's gone (yes, ive logged in and out and even logged out and waited 2 hours hoping it would come back) ... I know LL wont lift a finger (except to point at their disclaimer), and it makes me FEEL like I'm wasting time and money to the point where I'm just not interested in redoing even this small thing...

Personally, I hope the servers choke to death on that poseball...

But again, I ask, NOT when will it be fixed because I know that answer, but lets try rewording it: When will the SL servers be trustable again enough to make it worth logging in without fear of loosing more objects/money/time?

What is the really frustrating thing here, Jitar--is you're describing a whole clump of problems which are more effectively broken into parts. Actually, I'm glad you mentioned about the "self starting teleports".

I've had a problem for awhile now, no reliable repro yet, where I teleport somewhere. And a few seconds again, the black TP screen will come up and if I cancel it, I'll be stuck and I have to relog. That sound familiar to you at all? IM or email me if it does...

The physics thing sounds wack if it wasn't scripted--you can show that to me or go to HELP menu ---> LIVE HELP and ask a Linden Liaison to witness it. But no, asset server problems do not cause that to happen. That's different.

Earlier today, as I replied to Jaide, there was some asset flakiness. I'd recommend the same thing to you I did to her. I know, it sucks. :( Always nasty, the current gridmonkey--Zero Linden--was on it right away. He really cares about content loss.

Some have lamented Preview Grid being down as well, thinking something contagious from the Main Grid infected it. Again, no, these are different things.

Problems seem so much worse when it's lumped into a big ball, but when it's infact several elements that can be broken down, it makes tackling each one a lot better--and certainly also increases the potential for one's feeling better about having them resolved. Fear eventually dissipates--and no fear should have a lock over your courage!

Finally, sadly actual time travel doesn't exist, or I could answer your question precisely in a heartbeat. As I write this, the grid is fine. Also, you may want to read some past posts, like a very recent one by Karen Linden, detailing more about what happened. And beyond words, actions, which often gets condensed into "ASAP".

Hopefully we'll have a prolonged period of stability--sometimes it helps to remember: "And this too, shall come to pass." :)
