Well I looked through the Proposals at http://www.secondlife.com/vote and was going to put this there but decided it would be better for discussion instead of implementation... I was wondering if we could get a moderated Forum for a direct link to the developers... Sounds crazy but hold yer horses (or mules)... What I'm saying is... Everyone is always in an uproar about why hasn't this been implemented or why is it that I've been watching "such n such" proposal forever and all I've seen is "This feature has been acknowledged and is being tested for feasibility by Linden Labs..." (I don't know if that's accurate). Give us a daily post forum... Something to where the developers (granted this is just if they are willing to do it) can give us a heads up on what's going on... IE. Wow we finally got the bulk of Havok 2 coded for SL and are now working out the major bugs... Followed by... Ok most of the major bugs have ran their course and we are tying up most of the lose ends. We hope to see it being implemented soon... Or something of that nature... And this is why I say this... I've seen several proposals be "In Development" or "Acknowledged" for months... It's not that this is a bad thing... Just that... I'm losing faith... We all are... For some of us we are required to pay a monthly fee... This means work on our part every month to let you know that we still love LL and SecondLife and that we are giving you our hard earned money in continued support of this vast wonderful Metaverse... And though some may not have to work hard for their money and some have to dig ditches doesn't matter... It's the fact that we do spend it... Right here... The numbers on the front page plainly explain it just with the Currency Exchange... You guys have done such a great job... All we want is a heads up... Some of us go to church every weekend to "renew" our faith in god... Some almost everyday... But almost all of us within SecondLife "renew" our faith in the all holy grid almost every day if not every week... You have created great things but it's the users who have really built SecondLife into what it is today... All we ask is to get a few updates... Maybe just once a week... Heck even M$ does that most of the time... This isn't a rant... Just wanted to get my point across... I love this place and have no problems calling it home... All I'm asking for is a phone call from a friend every once in awhile... Show us some love... That's all we ask...

I hope I didn't come off all "Holier than Thow" (spelling?)

It's "Holier Than Thou", but that's alright, you're clearly a bigger fan of ellipses than I even am, Heratiki!

In response to this... you're actually in the right place, SL Answers does get questions for the devs, I often help channel such communication. And what you're asking already exists! :)

There is a dual approach we've been taking of order AND chaos: have you enjoyed Karen Linden's structured weekly development updates in Known Issues? That's where a lot of info goes! Also, when I learn something, I'll often add it in a flurry to an existing thread... for example, Property Lines (hehehe). More Lindens will also post in places like Technical Issues, so keep a-browsin'.

SPEAKING OF... not too long ago, Karen posted updates about numerous SL projects in development.

It sounds like the regular news you wanna hear is already happening. And yes, there will be more.

I hear ya... I think this is about the time where I remember what I said to Sabin Linden about "technofaith"! HALLELUJAH!
