Acquisitions and mergers reshape companies and venture capitalists continually take on new investments; All while their leaders retain LL board positions.

What impact (if any) do the companies and partners behind LL's Board of Directors have on LL's flagship product, Second Life? If so, could you summarize how that works? Do those influences carry over to parent companies after acquisitions and mergers take place?

For example: Can Electronic Arts, through Mr. Lasky, influence the direction of SL?

LL Board of Director Highlights:

James Courier is President of Tickle, Inc., which was acquired by Monster.com in 2004. Mr. Courier is now also Senior VP of Consumer Services, Monster.com.

Mitch Lasky was the Chairman and CEO of JAMDAT Mobile until 2005, when Electronic Arts purchased it and renamed it to EA Mobile. Mr. Lasky is now Senior VP of EA Mobile.

Also.. two humble suggestions:

1) Consolidate the sticky notes in Second Life Answers Forum into one or two brief notes for easy reference.

2) Update the LL Management page.

Thanks, and keep up the great work.

The people who are members of our board joined as either investors or advisors. James Currier and Mitch Lasky fall into the latter category.

Neither of them participates on the Linden Lab board as a representative of the companies they are involved with. Instead they act as independent advisors who bring expertise in managing high growth technology companies to our long term planning.
