In reply to posts at : my previous post on this topic...

I would like to set up my parcel so that unless someone is in the land-owning group and has various group-given permissions;
1) they cannot clutter the parcel with objects, or bash people around with physical objects.
2) they cannot use scripted weapons, such as guns, or rez scripted objects that blow people away or scriptbomb the sim.

1) seems impossible because they can just rez objects outside the parcel and move them in. Then do what they want with these objects. Ok, those objects might not be scripted if I set no-script too, but they're still very abusable by rezzing huge amounts of physical objects, for example.
2) seems impossible because if I enable no script, nobody but the land owning group can own scripted objects in the parcel, which isn't practical for things like vendors which have to accept/give money, give items or instant message people. Nor does it protect against people just whipping out guns and blowing other avs away, or using scripts which lag the sim so badly everyone leaves.

I'd like to set up a parcel so that only people who are in my invite-only group have the permissions needed to do anything disruptive on the parcel like shoot weapons or rez objects that run disruptive scripts.

How much will I be able to do that in 1.12?

It seems like I won't be able to, because I can't set my land no script because if I did I would have to force all objects on my parcel to be deeded to group, which would stop things like vendors etc from working, but would not stop people shooting off guns. I could set it no build, but that is pointless as people can just rez objects on another parcel and move them in, or use bullet-less guns. So, what can I do?

I realise that the no-push flag is coming (is that planned for inclusion in any specific version of SL, like 1.11, or 1.12, or 1.13?)... but that won't stop people doing things like rezzing a bunch of nukes which lag the sim so badly it becomes unusable for everyone.

I'm after a solution that lets the public on my parcel, but with no build/script permissions at all, but which lets members in a group role have build/script permissions free of restriction. What's the closest I can get to that?

Sorry Angel.

Your perfect scenario will not be possible with 1.12.

If you set objects to the group (not deed, just set) you should be able to use auto return to keep the parcel clean, while maintaining funcitoning vendors etc. This is not a new strategy to 1.12.

You will be able to make it so only the specified members of the group can build directly on group land, but no it won't prevent them from dragging objects onto the land.

It sounds like you want a parcel option to allow only objects set to the right group to run. That is a good idea and would solve (2) but is not a part of 1.12.

The closest you can get will be:
1) A role that allows building with those that you wish building in it
2) Make the group own the land
3) Set all objects to the group (not deed)
4) Set a short auto return time

All in all not very different than what can be done today. It should generally solve all of (1) but none of (2).

You should do two things now.

1) Check out 1.12 preview (1.12.0.4). There is a parcel flag for 'Run Group Scripts'. If the land has a group set (whether it is owned by a person or the group) AND an object has the same group set (whether it is owned by a person or the group) THEN...
with this checkbox checked their scripts will run. If you leave the 'Run Others Scripts' unchecked, then no one else's scripts will work.

I believe this covers your case 2 now.

2) Send thanks to Don Linden for this. :)
