I dont ask about a standalone version, but about a "portable version" of SL. All my post is right, but please, replace all "standalone" words with "portable".

O, like a "light" version... maybe even one you could have a on a cellphone... or other "mobile" platforms. I agree that would be nice, especially as computing power goes up! It's not in our current development plans--but the future is a big place.
I always wanted to find out what being on Second Life is like during a train ride. Update: Seraph Nephilim just clued me into another part I may have missed--thanx Seraph! Seraph presently knows a way to run SL from a USB key on a Mac. I don't know if it's also possible on Windows, but you may want to ask in Technical Issues where you can discuss.
