I'm starting to hear stories from my IW friends that business is slowly coming out of recession into boom. Is this true?

Not much choice but to call Caledon's five solid-full themed sims plus waiting list anything but booming.

I'm being pushed hard to open a sixth sim, and the electrons have barely settled down on the fifth.

Plus West Trade Imports, still booming along.

I still get custom requests to retexture a chair or whatnot; sometimes I'm offered $L 25 or $L 50 or something... I *really* need to figure out what to do with West Trade one of these days.

I swear, I'm definitely going to get 512m *just for myself* someday!

Now, if I could only afford a tulip...

My sales have never been better, but then I tend to make my own stuff.

Hey, a room for actual newbie jobs in SL. Keep the company and outsource the small retexturing works and such through a custom group, one that starting people can subscribe to and receive tasks if they happen to be online at the moment, or something..?

I think I'd rather get the textures as no transfer and do it myself, honestly. At least then I wouldn't need a refund if it got screwed up.

I'm surprised so many say we are in a steady/recession/depression.

I would have thought the influx of huddled masses would have pushed up sales more.

Probably only for freebie resellers, but what's even more amazing is that you have friends.

It won't because thanks to the false panic created by some morons that fresh influx has no L to spend anymore. And this is pretty much proof of what I was saying al along, they won't buy your L's.

Fascinating idea. Though... it might require some logistics or something somehow... hmmm.

Maybe I just give up on style, and make everything mod/transfer? I just never could bear the thought of seeing my stuff in leopard skin textures, &c.

A bid for West Trade? I'd certainly consider it.

West Trade makes roughly $L 2 million a year, based on the past six months or so... not entirely sure what it will do from here on out. Call it a safe $L 1 million for argument's sake, considering I'm not adding much lately... What should I get for it?

Good question! I'd say some multiple of sales is definately in order. What that multiple is, however, is anybody's guess.

Anyone want to take a stab at it? This could be fun!

I don't call finding a freebie and jacking the price to 400 or 500 L's distribution..I call it cheating those who don't know any better, and it SURE isn't capitolism.

Before I ever buy ANY L for ANY reason, I have to know who they are coming from, as I absolutely refuse to subsidize you or any of your miriad alts you always use to support your opinions here.

Refuse to support 2,500 people, because you don't like 5?

Yeah, selling $L isn't a problem at all. They're selling like hotcakes. It's buying $L that's the problem. People REALLY don't seem to want to part with them too easilly >.<
People REALLY should stop valuing their $L on Lindex so much. After all, it's only "game money," right?

The influx of huddled masses with a sign-up bonus of L$0 ?

Not much pushing power there.

Better than a huddled mass that is just given L$250 newly printed money.

Thats inflationary.
