Kim,

I did recently see a vend by Fairie Muse of very classy female clothing. She has a store that can be found in the store listings or under her picks. The outfits were not formal dress but more working classy, suits, casual evening wear, stylish daywear. I would have bought a few myself if they were priced lower. Grant it, the suits come with multiple pieces but even then the cost is still higher than the norm. ...

Anway there are alternatives out there in SL for a classy, sensual well-dressed lady. :)
Thanks Angel, you're an angel:). I checked out the shop today. Yes, you are right, that is exactly the style of clothing I would like to have a little more of in my inventory! Some really nice pantsuits, even one with a double breasted blazer. But the prices ...

Part of what bizarre kind of marketing strategy should this pricing be? A casual outfit - which I cannot even try on to judge the quality (one of the saddest points with fashion shopping in SL) - for 1,300 L$ or more? Presented in an ... eeehm ... 'modest' little shop on the outer edge of a lonely snow sim ...

Granted, thats only some 5$ or 4EUR real money. But I was not sure, if I should support that sort of Chuzpe, and left without buying anything ;)

As Second Life becomes more robust, these are the growing pains our world is going to have to go through. Stop trying to keep SL an infant.

Who's talking about protecting you genius?? Nobody is talking about protection, what part of - if these images begin to appear in Second Life there ARE people who will shut it down faster than you can say 'hey I'm a grown up' - dont you understand?

No? go ask Microsoft why they had to close down their chatrooms. All it takes is ONE kid to find their way into 'your world' and for that kids parents to catch a glimpse and its goodbye SL, all it takes is ONE adult to come across these images and it's goodbye SL.

You think that constitutes a 'growing pain'?Streaming movies is a piss poor thought out idea based on the assumption that all adults can be trusted to behave in an adult fashion. It's more glitter to gloss over the fact that what they REALLY should be working on is the performance of 'your world' which is - at best - poorer than ANY beta I've tested.

I love the diversity of Second Life, it's one of the things thats kept me here for so long, but there IS such a thing as a step too far.

Sorry, silly me. I was not precise enough. I know all of the three designers you mentioned. Actually spent some money with two of them, LOL. And yes, they already achieved premium brand status - like some others too. Its just ... what they do ist mostly formal wear.

And that was not what I was looking for.

Jonquille Noir... Little Rebel... Gallinas...

Nuff Said.

Thanks, Siggy! Actually, I found Jonquille some two weeks ago ... and emptied my wallet in her shop :)

She is great! ... and very versatile in her styles. I really wonder, why she does not have a higher profile in SL. It is definitely not because of her designs.

I just did not mention it here, because thats no really the focus of the thread. But she has earned a little more publicity!

Heheh in 7 more days It will be 8 years since I found her :)

As for the profile - I can't speak for her, but I think she just likes playing around and making clothes... The whole marketing etc. thing is just not that fun (for either of us).
We dig what we do, other folks that drop by dig what we do - and for us I guess that's around the right level of fun :)

Cheers!
