Releasing a new product at Version 2 or 3 instead of V1?

Rarely ever see software released at 1.0

Actually there is a lot of really great software out there that is released (check out sourceforge) that isn't even v1.0 :)

Just a few minutes ago I saw the newest version of Wine is out (see winehq.org). The version? 0.9.11 :)

Exactly, though I do believe the discussion is about mass-market retail product. (i.e. selling to those who have even less understanding of version numbers)

reserve...nothing against you whatsoever but your penguin dood in your sig has me crackin up...your isp is aol and it says i own joo beotch? good one! *walks away laughin*

Funny, but what you see in the Penguin's sign is your own ISP and IP Address.

Hahahahah... Funny Madiera, I see you are an AOL Sucka... lol
Go ahead, run a web search on your own IP address and you'll see
it matches the sign... I gotcha ya... Logging every IP too, just in case
I need it for devilish reasons.. :)

pfffft...

The only IP he can see is his own. Those things have been out for a long time and are free. He can't see anyone's info but his own.

Posting logs of IP adresses is against TOS.

This is going to Linden Review for editing.

I released one of my products at V1.1 because I thought I was done, found some bugs, updated it.

Don't think any of the poll options fit that, so I went for pie :D

Huh?

Logs of IP addresses are against TOS now? Cause I just searched http://secondlife.com/corporate/tos.php like crazy and found NO reference to this new ResMod-created rule.

Let me suggest that the post in question lies very close to:

Who needs manners when we have the truth?

What's your problem?? GEES. Does your life so much depend on version numbers that you are willing to fight it out on a forum?

#1: There is NO standard for version labelling.
#2: If you would have seen V1 on the object you bought, would you not have bought it?

add them up and we have

2The 2difference 2between 2me 2and 2you = 0

2(The difference between me and you) = 0

The difference between me and you = 0/2

The difference between me and you = 0

I never thought we were so similar

I'm locking this thread and submitting for linden review, and recommending RBD for violations of the TOS under sections 5.1.iv, 5.1.v, 5.1.x and for CS Disclosure violations.

The Community Standards apply to all Residents of Second Life. They obviously also apply to Lindens such as myself.

While I'm unable to personally confirm if the IPs posted are in fact Disclosure, this thread remains closed for the following reason:
Flaming, Spamming, Trolling – Flaming (posting a message that is intended to incite anger or directly attack a person or persons), Spamming (multiple posts of the same topic or discussion), and Trolling (a post with an intentionally contrary opinion written with the intent of inciting or getting argumentative opinions) are strongly discouraged. If you think your post might be over-reactive, or that it might fall into one of these definitions, please reconsider posting.
Please see the forum Guidelines for more info.
