Sometimes in life, it's not just about what you get... it's about how you get it.

They say bidding is good... because at biddings, the item goes at the best price. It goes at the highest price it can go. That means, it IS WORTH that much, to someone.
In this case, for Sundae Erato, that land was worth $151 (or even more). That's the price for her.
If someone makes a picture of my gf, it WILL be worth maybe a $1000 for me... and just $5 for any other person.

From: Tang Lightcloud The point is - why are the Lindens carving up a 240 sqare meter parcel on top of a prime peninsula to auction separately.
The point is - this could, does, and will pit owners against each other.
Then the questions is - why do the Lindens do that? Not even my crystal ball knows that answer. Yeh. The Lindens seem to be wanting to just get rid of all their protected land lately. Hell, if you manage to buy up all the land in a sim that isn't protected, rumor has it that they'll just hand the protected land over to you. The whole point of protected land was to preserve things like waterways and such! These waterways are slowly being destroyed by greed and LL's lack of care.

If I open two accounts and bid against myself, will I be eligible for a refund?

I think a better solution is to create a script that strips the view down to the land as it looked before any obnoxious development. Better yet, a nice "Click here to ignore all elements in neighbor's land" script. Suddenly, you "live" in a rolling hills pristine countyside with no evil towers! AND you kill the lagmonster, too. I say make it a script, hand it out for free, and make it only work to block elements in neighboring land.
Any input?

From: Jauani Wu yes. why don't i just play with 3dstudio by myself? Um, it does not mean "Turn off everyone's work." It means "I can ignore the people trying to lag me or ruin my game experience." The difference is subtle, but follow me here. I can ignore the massive pink rotating particle-spewing "HELP ME SELL OR I LAG YOU OUT" lag-tower griefer next door but still see Marge's nice chateau and Greg's cool "modern loft" building to the sides, or the blank, unmodified land on the third. WHen I look over at Pink Lag Hell, I see only green, serene, rolling hills. If that chaps you, then perhaps your buildings should be looked into. Or are you just being a forum griefer and picking on a poor little n00b? I mean, have at it, Mr. Land Baron. I am sure that your motives are wholly unselfish and "objective."

HOLY CRAP that was a winded piece of discourse! I"ll never get those four minutes of my life back....
Why didn't anyone simply ask why the Lindens dont' take more of a roll in zoning ordinance and site planning?
~Lefty P.S. try to say it in 5 words rather than 50. And if somebody missed your point, check to see if your post's length had anything to do with it.

From: Haney Linden I'm not aware that we are selling any protected land although we are often asked to. That's odd. I was told by the group that bought most of the sim I live in that they asked the Lindens before purchasing if they could get the protected land there if they bought the rest of the land in the sim. It's why they kept pressuring me and other residents to sell... so that they could get the waterways from you as well.
