Dear LL, I am rising to the challenge of the faltering SL economy. Please appoint me Supplemental Economic advisor and I will have a list of austerity measures in your office within a week of my appointment with actionable responses. The level of desperation is rising ( /139/b3/108424/1.html) We need fast action now to stave off an impending recession. I will do what is necessary to right the SL economic ship. Please contact me as soon as possible... jamiebergman2005@hotmail.com I look forward to being a part of the team! Most humbly, Jamie

I believe a requirement of the position should be 'ethical.'
Guess that excludes you?

Cause the fool that Linden Labs hired to be their economic guru should be fired.. They suck... Call Edward Castronova, he is the man for the job... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_CastronovaEdward Castronova is Associate Professor of Telecommunications at Indiana University Bloomington as of fall 2004, previously Associate Professor of Economics in the College of Business and Economics at California State University, Fullerton. He obtained a BS in International Affairs from Georgetown University in 1985 and a PhD in Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1991. In between, he spent 18 months studying German postwar reconstruction and social policy at universities and research institutes in Mannheim, Frankfurt, and Berlin. From 1991 to 2000, he worked as an Assistant and later Associate Professor of Public Policy and Political Science at University of Rochester. His works on synthetic worlds and their economies, and on EverQuest in particular, have attracted considerable attention. His paper on Norrath, a fictional planet in the EverQuest universe, Virtual Worlds: A First-Hand Account of Market and Society on the Cyberian Frontier (2001) is available on SSRN. It claims, for example, that Norrath has a GDP per capita somewhere between that of Russia and Bulgaria, higher than that of China and India, and that a unit of EverQuest currency is worth more than the Yen or Lira.

Since it's clear that nobody at LL has a clue how the economy *really* works in their game, then perhaps someone like me who knows how it *should* work needs to be approached for help.
Vasudha Linden's silence throughout all of this is more than worrying.

Yes, why is our economic advisor so silent?
Jebezuz... the economy is experiencing a major meltdown and it seems like he/she is off dancing on some tropical island.
