ok its almost been 4 months now....Yes its another tear about the Lindex!

4months we have been in a constant down spiral of the lindex market.... these are the facts!
this time last year Lindens sold for 445 usd/100k$L. 4 moths ago it was selling for 345usd/100k$L, today im seeing sales @283usd/100k$L. that includes and outrageous drop in the last 3 hours. My Store prices are based on the economy 2 years ago. What am i supposed to do? if i raise my prices to compensate id loose bussiness...customers dont understand that. thats a 50% increase! I try very hard not to loose faith in SL but i dont know what to do short of quitting.

SL has become livelyhood for alot of people.....myself included but its pretty much not worth it anymore me busting my butt to create for no ...no light at the end of the tunnel.

if the stock exchange crashed as sl is....not even as bad even....people jump off of buildings for less of a crash then sl is showing. I'm tired of fighting, tired of complaining, ....im just so tired. :( I just find it interesting that a platformed based on a user created economy thrives and the moment the devs try to "take it over and do it better" all hell breaks loose.

Today i tried to sell on ige...when i get frustrated with lindex.....they were actually buying at only half of what the lindex is at currently. What does this mean?....It means that the world outside SL is seeing the trouble we are in and loosing faith in the game and platform itself. What good is all our hard work? Why do we even try? I never thought id ever say that. But concidering theres no way i can afford to keep creating in sl 18 hours a day...before i thought i was so lucky to do what i loved and spend all my energy doing it and not have to worry about food..or rent. I literally cried today cause i see one day soon ill have to think about moving on. The sad part is LL can afford the year to "fix things" most of the hardcore creaters just cant. :( I asked Pillip the question at the town meeting about the market and the bad choices they r making with it causing countinual panic...and I got the cutest politically correct answer ive ever heard. he should run for president.

my question is simple: What do i do?What are peopl like myself supposed to do?But most important....What is LL going to do? im out of options.

In that same time frame, the population of SL has gone up about 7 fold. If you're creating customized goods for each buyer, then you should raise your prices to reflect the change in exchange rate. Otherwise, if your variables costs are near zero, then you should do what it takes to maintain marketshare. If you do you should be able to wind up with about 3.5x the US$ you were making a year ago.

You'll have to ask them why their buy offers aren't competitive with what other markets are offering.

I think that's probably reading a bit too much into the situation.

Reprice your goods and/or market your products more as appropriate, and please understand that we're working on several projects (that can be completed in the short, medium, and long term) that we hope will help towards decreasing the rate at which the L$'s rate of exchange has been changing.

More news will be posted when there is more we can say. Believe me, none of us like watching the exchange rate move this quickly, and we're frequently evaluating and reevaluating what we can do towards improving the situation.

Cheers,
Lawrence
