Well obviously I would walk on water. Or fish.

Doesn't walking on fish hurt the little buggers?

Yeah, you should see them flounder around afterward. Actually, don't worry, I'm not really that kinda of scampi ... it was all a red herring, I really just skate on past them... Mahi apologies if I sounded roughy.

YES, YES, YES! That was the first thing I thought of when I saw this thread title. It'd be a nice follow up to my fusion power plant. :D

build high in the sly and leave the water unspoiled to boat in. and plant underwater plants down there, maybe some fishies too.

there is a state park called Pymatuning. it's known as the place where the ducks walk on the fish. yes this is a real place, there is a spillway where lots of carp fall over the edge that dont seem to want to. people throw them bread etc. and the ducks come and fight the fish for the bread, standing and walking on the fish, often a duck can cross from one side to the other without touching the water or flying. a truly odd sight to behold.

I had ocean land. I built my home underwater. Also check out Jopsy's land in Teal. The Particle Laboratory. He has underwater ruins there among other cool shiznit. And next door to it, in Rua, is a fine Atlantis-inspired build by Jemma Flora. :)

Actually, an underwater dome would be really cool, but it would be nice to be able to put air in it, so you could swim down (holding your breath in RL or not, as you choose), go through an airlock, and then breathe again.

I can't think how to get this effect, though. You'd want to turn off the pervasive underwater gloom in your dome.

Sounds like time for another feature request: allow objects made of Air!

My old land was 90% water, ontop had surfing waves that ended on a nice romantic beach.

Underwater I had what I believe to be the biggest habitated reef in SL.... Tons of fish, coral, plants, sharks, dolphins, a orca and a few ruins thrown in for deco. Also had a underwatercave with secret passage to my workshop. If I can do it anyone can, so not really that hard.

I tried every trick could think of to take away the illusion of water inside a underwater building; all failed :( That would be a great feature if could drain a enclosed object...

*cue funky calypso music*
*sings*
Under the sea,
Under the sea,
There'll be no accusations,
Just friendly crustaceans
Under the Seeeeeeeeeeeeea!
*stops singing*

But seriously... We have the advantage of floating buildings here in SL.. No gravity.. w00t..

You can do anything you want with it :D

water level
03-09-2005 16:56
can't 'land' owners adjust water level(or is that only for island owners)? so drop the water level to 0, instead of 20? Then put fake water up at 20 and/or corone off the area.

Note that boats trying to move over this area will be in for a big shock

Only island owners, I believe. (That would look really strange, all the beachfront owners setting the water height to different levels....)

It's a reasonable workaround, but as you pointed out, it would mess up boats.

Someone in the Feature Suggestions thread pointed out that you can turn off water rendering in the Debug menu, so I bet it wouldn't be too hard to have a prim made of "Air".

sounds like she's talking about island sims not plain ocean sims. if it's an island sim the possiblities are endless. if it's just a water sim there's only one clear choice......sail that bad boy!
