This is insane. How many new threads can we have offering a 'solution' to the Lindex/Stipend/Economy/Inflation/Pricecutting/It's-a-game-dumbass 'problem' can we have. Let's tidy this up! All solutions, to all problems, post here. Go your hardest.

Fade, that's the main reason why I don't visit this thread very often now. It's becoming spammed like the events like, but instead of tringo, it's LindeX criers.

1) LL makes all third party sales of L's a bannable ofense under the ToS

2} LL offers a fixed buyout rate on LindeX for those wishing to cash out, and/or sets up agreements with someone like IGE, APPROVED sites only to deal L's under thier terms for said fixed rate.

3) LL sets a fixed buy rate for purchasers allowing themselve s a small markup. Say 10-20%.

4) Put a flag in the system, which BTW already keps track of in game transactions flagging any and all transaction for large blocks of L's.

a) Check to see if Goods or land "equal" to the amount of cash changed hands. If not go to b

b) check to see if the recipient is an alt for the sender of the cash. If not go to c

c) ban BOTH parties, all thier lands, cash and goods reverting to LL, with no chance of reinstatement.


Let's see fixed rate, no more falling L value. Enforceable. Seems to me it meets all criteria including the added benefit of not having to listen to the trolls creating a panic anymore.

BTW my other solution to the panic creating trolls was unrepeatable.

If LL won't kill free accounts, I propose that all True Capitalists go around shooting anyone on a free account*, whilst shouting "it's the ECONOMY, stupid!"

(semi) Seriously, shut down the land and econ forum for a week, and mercilessly move all zOMG the L$ is falling posts here.

My solution:

RBD and Lewis, representing the twin forces of good and evil (you decide which is which ), battle it out. Being equal and opposite forces, they will destroy each other, restoring order to the Metaverse and stability to the Lindex.

Make Land tier and premium payments ingame with Lindens as an option... Link the value of L$/USD to the lindex so the payment is exact the value of the current USD value. Perfect sink. Limits the Linden sales. problem resolved

It is the prophecy! The chosen ones will bring balance to the metaverse.

Only problem with this is that tier and premium payments go to LL, and it's only valuable to them if they can re-sell those $L's for cash. Tier and premium payments are what help pay LL's bills. Not a good place for a sink.

Sinked lindens go to LL and have the same value as real money...

What difference does it make weather I sell my lindens on lindex and pay my tier or do it directly ingame with my Lindens?

Remember LL dosent get paid for lindex sales or buys (exept the 3,5%)

so by all means, charge me 3.5% for paying my tier ingame.

Do you really think that LL can pay their employees with L$? In order to get US$ out of it, they would have to sell it on the Lindex themselves, bringing the L$ back into the economy instead of destroying them...

I ALREADY pay my tier with lindens (I just lindex them first into USDollars)... there really is no difference. Every time LL pays stipends, they pay real money (in theory) everytime lindens get sinked LL gets real money back... You pay your tier with someone elses money (that is in US$).

LL do not "pay" stipends, they simply create them -- it costs them absolutely nothing to do so. Because LL are the ones who create the in-game currency in the first place, that currency has no value to them. The L$ only has value to residents of SL because they are an artificial resource that LL controls the creation & destruction of.

Dosent matter who creates what.. The only rule is.. Can it be traded for money=It has value. Period.

I create skins in SL.. does that mean they have no value to me??? Of course they do...

A sideeffect of the ingame tier payment, would also cause the linden VALUE to rise..

Maybe he could reveal that in his final gasp. That'd add suspense. Plus I'm curious. What would an RBD look like? I'm imagining a pinstripe suit and a prim briefcase. Have their been any sightings in-world, confirmed or made-up? Post your future urban myth here.
