Land Selling 101 and "Land Swooping"

Someone will do anything legal (and still ethical) do make a buck. but when one is trolling the grid in search on land for sale at 0$ or 1$ (when that undividual perfecly know that is someone setting up is land for sale) is just a plain low life parasite scumbag. And believe there is a lot of those in SL.

To remain a nice place to live and visit LL need to get rid of the garbage that litters SL everywhere. (people who make a living STEALING should be the first to be "swoop" from the grid.

Proposed anti-stealing protocol. If soneone "buy" you land for a low price (like 0$ or 1$) and you don't ment to, a complaint to Sl should result is and instant life banning of the parasite who did it.

Only extrem and fast action from LL will clean ut the grid of all the individuals that are there only to cheat and steal.

Folks have to live and learn.... Thats Life... If they sold their
land for L$1 dollar, I bet you they won't make the same mistake
a 2nd time.

I suppose they should have a confirmation dialog box for people shooting at avatars too. Something along the lines of 'Your avatar is being shot at. Do you want to take the bullet?'

Now, I'm all for justice, but if you put up a big sign saying "DON'T PUSH THIS BUTTON UNLESS YOU ARE REALLY SURE YOU WANT YOUR HEAD TO EXPLODE", you really shouldn't be expected to compensate exploded-headed people. Sure, you could step in and reverse sales when the seller complains, but how far do you take that? Someone realises they sold for under the market value and realises they could have gotten more, so complains to Lindenlabs about it and pretends they didn't mean to sell?

Hello everyone. Since we are talking about new users and selling land while not knowing the system....I thought I would throw my two cents in here....since I am new user who just got royally SCREWED on the system by selling my land, when I did not really want to sell it.

Well...I guess I should not say that...I mean...I DID want to sell it. ...I DID want to make a profit off of it...But....it is not fair....because....well...see...I was not really READY to sell it.... I mean ....well...I said YES...I want to sell it to ANYONE at the price that *I* set....but I was really only wanting OFFERS....I Mean...I never thought anyone would actually BUY it as fast as they did....

I went to the kitchen for a quick break, and came back...and the Lindens were in my account, and the land was gone.... It was just not fair...Terrible terrible thing....Absoultely horrible....

Of course....I DID put it up for sale...I DID know that I was doing it...and that anyone could buy it....I just did not expect it...being taken advantage of is so terrible...

Especially when it sold for about 6 times the market value. Yep...I got screwed out of my land all right. I just made sure that if I got screwed out of it, I would make my money first by setting the price so high, that it would be well worth losing it. I am financed for the next few months easy now.

The guide for selling really is clear. It does ask you plenty of times if you REALLY want to do this....After all...the only SURE way to never get pregnant is to not have sex. And if you DO have sex, well, you just might could get pregnant...For those who are not aware of that....

By the way, pointing a gun at anyone is dangerous. I just thought I would mention that as well.

Ulrika and I are Social Democrats. Neualtenburg was founded on strong capitalist economic principals fused with socialist principals of defending the minority classes, and ensuring a minimum standard of virtual life for all it's citizens.

I'm very new so I wouldnt know but I read so many posts about land and "find" has thousands of plots of land available, as a newbie people keep asking if they can buy my first land plot which i've not sold to anyone but what I can understand is why would people want to swoop in a buy land like has been said in this thread or I cant understand why there are hundreds of people saying they will buy your land, as theres so much land available and thousands of regions you can buy for $1000 odd each whats the hype?

I've just looked at a small part of land at the side of the road, you could hardly build on it price was $L 2000 + $5.88 a month, even if someone got it a lot cheaper by doing it in dodgy ways whats the point? there tier will only go up but theres another 98 million possible plots for someone to take?

Just cant see any value or how mass land owners could stay in business by holding lots of land?
