i agree, with one minor addition. She's developed savvy when the fruit was low hanging, meaning she could make mistakes and still profit. I think the game has changed where if you are not an old hand at land baroning, you'll have to pay through the nose to learn how to play the game.

Jau has some good thoughts on this. However, his cynicism is too much for me.. I see Adam and Nolan doing relatively well here. They had to go through some growing pains tho.

Which Adam? :) Nosey Panthers are curious beasts ...

sometimes i read these ' economy' forums with the idolatry/envy/resentment/ of these mechanistic money churning players and their 'planned to the second' business strategy... and profit-worship activity and i think..its sad that with a wonderful ' second life' a chance to innovate, thrill, expand imagination, create things and places of wonder.. and harness creative minds.. to produce virtual magic.. we end up with this..

im thankful that there are some of us actually still prepared to PAY a few hundred dollar a month to ENJOY, create, and add value..(without just to run bigger first life houses and buy cars...) to this unique 'other world'

Isn't 1L work enough work?
..though i know its inevitable.. its sad also that we must make our 2nd lives even more work.. in the same shallow consumer vein...is this the world we imagined we would have by now...( maybe its what the business that runs LL wants..)..is this the best we can do here?

sometimes reading these threads is depressing..

My father always said there was no trick to becoming rich - you just had to value making money above everything else. So - no artistic, enviromental, human welfare concerns, etc., could affect your decisions. Needless to say, not many people are like that, for which I'm thankful.

I sure hope you're being sarcastic.

If SL isn't the place for fun, then I've been terribly misguided for the past 8 months! :D Sure some people churn away and make (possibly) good money from the game, and I have no problem with that. As long as it doesn't interfere too much with the bags of fun and games I have in my free ( = non-work) time, and with all the cool social interaction with super people, I'm happy!

The beauty is - you can have it your way.

Not all rich people are heartless. Sometimes rich people are the most generous people. I refuse to label people based on their wealth. That drives a wedge between the classes that shouldn't exist. It's how communists keeps the masses in line.

When looking for a job to feed one's family, one seldomly looks to a big hearted poor person.
