You can go here and burn your first 500. Pick up the ball there and use it at home at your own convenince from then on. It costs $0 and it's a personal sink. I already burnt my stipend and hope to again next time around =c)

How exactly does this money 'disappear' from the economy? Where does it go?

Because I see a lot of potential for abuse and personal gain from this concept.

As posted in SLA, if you give your L$ to any Linden they're removed from the economy. Finding Governor Linden's key is fair easy, since the Gov owns a fair amount of land and llGetLandOwnerAt() will give you their key.

The llGiveMoney() will let you give your stipend, and any other excess L$ you've got to the Govenor.

I'm pretty sure the script they're linking to is open source (If not there is one in the scripting tips forum that is open and free) so all you'd have to do is check there's only one llGiveMoney call in the script and that the key belongs to a linden.
