I visited your store yesterday and thought that the layout was better mcgeeb. If you look at the thread on "death of the economy" there are quite a few people seeing declines in sales at the moment. That would include me from my shop just over the sim from yours.
It might be location, less people willing to casually spend money or similar. It is also quite common at this time of year, there is always a body of people wanting to spend their RL money on things like going on holiday, or spending when they're away, so takings are usually down in July and August. (In December the buying of christmas presents in SL seems to counteract that dip from people wanting money for RL presents.)

I thought all that hard work was for nothing. There's so many nice people around my neighborhood too

*Quote*I remember once going to Amsterdam trying to find a Sylfie's, and giving up about an hour later having scoured the sim with my partner. To this day I still haven't bought the boots I was looking for. Eh.*UnQuote*
Aww..that happened to me too! I tried to find the store on my own. But in the end I had to IM her for directions. Stores in Amsterdam tp only at the entrance. That place is HUGE!
TP's for stores in Amsterdam needs to be at the stores entrances. Or why not have a TP option on all the store signs that are at the entrance of Amsterdamn?

I couldn't find the place either, but in the end figured out a way... went to store owner's picks, found the store listed there, clicked the button so the LM was put on the sim map by game client, then simply walked to the place red arrow and beam was showing ^^;;

A trick I just learned is to look at the profiles of your buyers, via account history. Even though my stuff isn't Gorean themed, I discovered that they tend to be a strong marke for met. Thus, I was able to pull myself out of a sales slump, and also increase brand awareness, by opening up a vendor in a Gorean area.
Speaking of vendors, don't be too proud to open one, if your product fits, and the rent is cheap. Even if you only sell one item, that's one person who can now tell their friends where they got the item.
I don't know though, I've got a long way to go before I can consider SL a day job.

Things that attracts me to the shop: * Good screenshot. Gives me an idea of how the points that will keep me there are going to be. Is the place just a giant mall? I tend to not like giant malls. Camp chairs/dance pads? * Good description: Do they have what I'm looking for (Answer: If it came up in a keyword search, they probably do). Do they sell a lot of other unrelated crap that will make it harder to find what I'm looking for? Are they clearly just trying to pad out their keyword hits (Seriously, what exactly makes your patio furnature 'gorean')? * Is it a store, or is it a store pretending to be a club? Worse, is it a club pretending to be a store? * Good name never hurts, either. "Max SXY stuffz 4U camp tringo sex" is rarely a sign of good things to come.
What makes me get a landmark: * Organization. Did I find what I was looking for? Too often you go someplace that has a keyword in their description indicating they have what I wanted, but then they either don't, or I can't find it (clearly this is the same thing) Texture warehouses are notoriously bad for poor organization. I hate shopping for textures. If they have labeled sections, there's no way to find those sections without going t hrough the whole store. Large stores (Which of these 40 vendors has the one thing I came here for?) and especially malls are terrible for this as well.
* Lack of such as camp chairs and slot machines
* Oddly enough, I like stores that have good products and reasonable prices!

Just had a frustrating moment on the new products forum so thought I'd add to this post in case someone reads it...
I will also try to take the ideas on board for myself!
When you make a nice picture of the product - include enough to let me find it again in the picture. snapshot001.jpg isn't helpful, and the name of the product may be great, but I want to know the name of the shop/designer so I can do a search on that... a sim and co-ordinates even better!

I am an avid SL shopper and the one thing that will make me leave a shop right away is excessive lag. If I can hardly move or get things to rez properly then there is no sense in staying there. This is one of the resons I mostly avoid large shopping malls as they tend to be generally more laggy than smaller single shops.
I really enjoy it when sellers offer bulk packs of like items bundled together at a slight discount. Many times when I like a hair style, I must have it in every color available. The bundled packs save me a lot of time and frustration because I can literally have it all in just a couple of clicks. There is one hair store in SL that has got this down perfectly. Not really sure if I am allowed to mention names here - IM me if you are curious.

From: Shar Murakami This is my first thread, so hopefully I am not stepping on anyone's toes. I figured this was an economy question. I am working with some friends on some stuff and was wondering, what is it that attracts you to any specific store in SL? Is it product? Atmostphere?
I appreciate any feedback that anyone may be willing to offer. Also, to any moderators, if this is in the wrong forum, could you please help me locate it properly?
Thank you.
Shar Murakami Well i don't like stairs so if its on one floor and easy for me to get around without walking into or around things...jee i dont want much do i lol...plus I am finding that i trust certain designers more and will go to their shops no matter where they are..waves at Zeno
